"Happy Birthday." I smiled looking over at Aaliyah.

"Thanks." She smiled. She seemed shy as I just looked over at his parents. "It's nice to finally meet you guys, Shawn never shuts up about you." I chuckled.

"I could say the same about you." His mom smiled. "Every time we have a family dinner, Shawn always finds a way to bring you into the convo."

"Aww." I said laughing as I looked over at a blushing Shawn.

"Ok mom, this is Aaliyah's birthday. We should be embarrassing her." He reminded.

I spent the night with Shawn, his family and friends as he had introduced me to everyone. It was a lot to take in with the amount of people I was meeting and greeting in one night but Shawn has to do this every night with millions of people all over the world.

"I don't know how you do it." I whispered as Shawn and I had been standing around with drinks just listening in on convo's.

"Do what?" He asked taking a sip from his beverage.

"Meet so many people. I'm so overwhelmed with it." I said.

"Was this too much for you?" He asked with concern in his voice.

"It's your family, it's fine but having to do that with random people all over the world every day is stressful. Isn't it?" I asked.

"It can be, yes." He nodded. "If things ever get too tough, just know you have me by your side." He smiled.

"And you have me." I said earning a kiss on the top of the head as his arm snaked around my shoulder pulling me in.

"I love you." He whispered into my hair.

"I love you." I whispered back into his chest.

It got time to blow the candles out on Aaliyah's cake as I posted a video to my story on instagram as we sang Happy Birthday to her.

When the party was over, Shawn and I hugged every single family member as they all started to leave one by one except for Aaliyah, 2 of her friends and Shawn's parents, which gave me a little more time with them.

"So how long have you and Shawn been together?" His mom had asked.

"We've known each other for a couple months now but just recently started dating." I smiled.

"Is he treating you good?" She whispered.

"Extremely." I whispered back as we both laughed.

"That's good to hear." I nodded my head as Shawn walked up sitting down on the couch beside me as we all had looked over at him.

"What's everyone talking about?" He asked wrapping his arm around my shoulder as we leaned on the couch.

"You." I chuckled.

"Hopefully good things."

"Always."

Shawn leaned in giving me a kiss on the cheek as I couldn't help but blush. We all talked for the next hour or two as his parents had made plans to invite me over to their house for supper. I gladly accepted it as we got up walking them to the door.

"It was nice meeting you guys." I smiled.

"You too, dear." Both Manny and Karen gave me a hug as I looked over at Aaliyah.

"Bye. Happy Birthday."

"Thank you." She smiled. I opened my arms for a hug as she came in gradually accepting it.

We said our goodbyes letting them go as I wrapped my arms around Shawn's torso. He crushed me into his embrace as I let out a tiny gasp.

"Wanna watch the sunset?" He asked.

"Can we?" I asked excited looking up at him. He chuckled as he grabbed some blankets going out onto the patio that a bit of a mess.

He lied down on the couch that he had outside here as I laid down beside him. We had the perfect view of the CN tower as the lights were just turning on and the sun was about to start setting.

He wrapped us up in the blanket as I wrapped my body around his like a koala.

"I have to leave for LA in a couple days." Shawn said.

"For how long?" I asked.

"Almost a month." He said as I didn't even react to it. I'm used to it and I'm going to need thick skin when it comes to us because this is my life with him now.

"I'll miss you." I said in a low tone.

"I'll miss you more." He whispered in my ear as he kissed my neck. We had been spooning as we overwatched the city.

"Impossible." I giggled.

"When I get back though, we'll do dinner with family and we'll go to the movies, we'll go shopping, we'll do all the cute couple stuff that I know you want to do." I heard him say as he smiled.

"Shawn you don't have too." I sighed. "I know what it's like to be you, you won't be able to do much of that."

"I'll do as much as I can for you."

We both sat in silence as I closed my eyes taking in the time I have with him. Something might change and he'll have to stay in LA longer than a month. I know I'll probably go out and visit him if something does change but right now, I think some time away is good for us.

"What about a hockey game?" I asked.

"A hockey game?" He chuckled.

"Yeah, I've always wanted to go to a hockey game. Let's do that when you get back." I smiled. "The leafs are playing, we'll go see them."

"Sounds like a plan." He said.

I know I can handle a month without him, I just don't want too. There's a difference.
