Lisa's pov
"Mason!" I called to my son who was playing with his toys. "Come on we gotta go to target" I shouted. "Tadet!!!!" Mason shouted toddling through to me and walking into my legs, he fell down and looked up at me frowning. "Oh no, up again" I said picking him up. "Tadet tadet tadet!" He shouted again. "Yeah baby boy were are going to target, your favourite place in the world" I laughed. "David! Hurry up we are waiting!" I shouted to david.
David came into the room wearing a shirt and jeans. I was wearing some denim ripped jeans and a shoulder less dark cream jumper and Mason was wearing a gray jumper with some denim jeans. "You ready to go?" David asked slipping his hand into mine. "Yeah" I looked at him smiling at his action. "Is my little man ready?" David asked mason, ruffling his messy dark brown hair . "Yes dada" mason said smiling up lovingly at David. I picked him up and balanced him on my hip as we walked out of our house.Around six months ago we moved into our dream house. It had everything we could possible want for our family. A garden and pool for mason, many bedrooms for guests and also if we ever think about having more babies. And space for mason to run and grow.
Before, I imagined mason and his siblings growing up here but I can't imagine that anymore after loosing our other baby.Anyways, we all got into the Tesla and drove to target. The whole way mason chatted to himself. He is so much like me. He is always talking and loves being on camera and he also has an unhealthy obsession with target. I took out David's camera and vlogged mason talking. "Tadet, mommy tadet, dada tadet," Mason said to himself. "What are you saying mason?" I asked laughing slightly. "Mommy and dada love tadet" he said in his little accent that only me and David could really understand. He looked up at me holding the camera and smiled. "Mommy vogging?" He asked missing the L out. "Yeah I am, do you want to say anything to your friends?" I asked him. "Tadet!" He shouted. "Anything else?" I asked. "Dada" He said pointing at david. "Yeah dada's driving the car" I said encouraging him. Mason is really good at talking for his age, which he also clearly got from me. As we pulled into the car park David spoke. "Mason guess where we are" He said. Masons face lit up and he waved his arms and kicked his legs in excitement. I got out and David pulled mason out of the car and held masons hand as we walked across the parking lot. It was super funny how much excitement one little boy could hold for a store. We walked into target and got a cart that mason could sit in whilst we pushed him around.
David pulled out his camera and began vlogging. "Hey guys, so we are at target right now and mason and Liza are pretty happy and excited because they have strange obsessions with target" he said laughing at the last part. I playfully hit his arm and laughed. As we walked round we put a few things in the cart, we were mainly here for a few things though. Some paper lanterns, some matches and some sharpie pens. We got into the stationary section and mason picked me some sharpies. He picked a big packet with all of the colours in it. We then went into the candle isle and I got some matches from the shelf and finally we got the paper lanterns. We picked up a few other random things, paid and then left. "Starbucks?" David asked as we got into the Tesla. "I thought you would never ask" I laughed.
We went to Starbucks and David got a coffee and I got a latte, we also got mason a little hot chocolate with whipped cream as he loves them so much. We took them to go and drank them in the Tesla. When we got home, mason took a nap and me and David cuddled on the sofa. It was silent but it was a nice silent. The only thing is, it gave me time to think, which ended up being worse than good.
David's pov
As me and Liza cuddled on the sofa, I saw a tear roll down her cheek. "Baby, what's wrong?" I asked hugging her tighter. "I was just thinking about the baby and"
"I know" I said cutting her off. It's been exactly a year since we lost our baby. It's been a hard year but we got through it together and seeing Liza cry is reminding me of the whole experience. "Liza baby it's okay, I got you" I explained. "A year ago" she said still sobbing into my hoodie. "And we got through it, we have fought and kept strong all this time" I replied kissing her head. She nodded but kept crying. "I love you so much Liza, i will always be here for you" I told her.
After about half an hour of Liza crying, she dried her eyes. "Liza" I spoke. She turned to me and I lightly pushed my lips against hers and she relaxed into me my grip after a few seconds. We kissed for at least ten seconds before breaking apart. "Fuck" i said staring into her eyes. "What" she replied still staring at me. "You're just so perfect" I replied. She blushed and smiled at me. "I love you a lot" she replied. "I love you a lot too." I replied. I pulled her into a hug again and it was about to be perfect until mason let out a cry from his room, telling us he was awake. "I'll get him" Liza said getting up. She walked through to masons room and then about five minutes later returned and sat back on the sofa with mason between us. "Good morning mace" I said ruffling my sons hair. "Moding" he replied trying to repeat me. I picked him up and Kissed his head. We cuddled together for most of the afternoon. As it got dark outside we all gathered in the dining room to set off our memorial paper lanterns for our little angel. We opened the packet of sharpies and paper lanterns. I had one, Liza had one and we gave one to mason even through he couldn't write. We wrote and drew on our lanterns for about fifteen minutes before we got ready to send them off to the sky. I had written in mine "to our little angel, we love you so so much and miss you a lot too. We will always love you and remember you forever and always, through all the ups and downs
Lots of love dada" Liza smiled and teared up as she read it. Liza had written "to our angel, it's been a year since you left us, mommy and dada and mason love you so so much even if we didn't ever properly meet you . You will always be in our hearts
Love from your moma" Liza read it out, her voice shaking along with her hands. "Baby, it's okay" I told her hugging her. Mason stood up and walked to Liza. He wrapped his arms round her legs and hugged her so tight it was adorable. Liza broke apart from me and picked up mason. "Thank you mace, I love you" She said to him kissing his head. He just cuddled her which was the most adorable thing. I picked up his paper lanterns and it had squiggles all over it which was pretty good considering he can only just pick up a pen. It also had "love from mason" written on it which Liza obviously helped him to write. We got the matches and went outside into our big grassy garden and rested the lanterns on the outdoor table as we opened up the matches. I lit the lanterns whilst Liza held mason a few feet away. I set of masons first, then mine, then Lizas. As we watched them float off into the sky, Liza just cried and cried into my hoodie. I whispered calming things to her whilst kissing her head every now and then . Mason watched the lanterns fly into the air for a while but soon got bored and he was now asleep on one of the outdoor sofas. We had been standing outside for at least an hour, mason sleeping on the couch and Liza crying into my shoulder. I'm not even going to lie I did tear up a few times thinking about how upset Liza was and about our little angel.
I lifted Lizas head so she was looking into my eyes and I was looking into hers. Her eyes were pretty red and her cheeks stained with tears. She was wearing one of my hoodies that was way to big on her and some sports leggings and she looked amazing. As she blinked her eyes began to well again. "Baby why are you still crying?" I asked her wiping the tears from her cheeks with my thumb. "I felt so sure about the future and how mason was going to have siblings who were just as amazing and cute as him but now i barely can imagine it" she explained. "What do you mean?" I asked leading her to the sofa mason was curled up at the end of and sitting at the other side. "I'm scared to have any other babies because I'm scared that I might hurt them again" she cried. "Liza, look at Me" I said as she looked up again. "You did not do anything to harm that baby, it wasn't you at all" I said, my voice becoming shakey and tears forming in my eyes too. "It wasn't meant to be, in the future we will have so many more chances of having other babies and mason can have lots of siblings" I told her. "I just want that baby" she said quietly. "I did too but we can't, we will forever remember that baby and love it forever, but we need to move on with our lives, just like we have been doing for the past year. We have each other and we have mason, and that's all that matters" I explained. She nodded
