Sam's POV

I studied all of his movements, and soon attempted to do the small parkour myself.

I jogged to the skids, and pulled myself up to the ledge of the floor. Taking a few deep breaths, I ran to the ladder full-force and jumped.

I felt an adrenalin rush flood through me as I climbed up, and reached the platform he was on; a look of admiration on his face.

This made me happy.

I followed him more into the building, as he looked at the graffiti on the wall. I started noticing in all of the street art he was searching for, there was a certain symbol.

Maybe that's how the artist marked them as theirs, instead of a signature?

I decided not to mention anything, as I followed him around.

"Oh my god, Markus look!" I screeched as I pointed to a body on the ground. He followed my finger then gently pushed me behind him.

"A dead android.." He seemed really affected by this, and that made me feel better; knowing he didn't hate them.

"That's horrible! How do you think it happened..?" I asked. He shrugged as he nudged me forward; walking through part of a cracked wall.

We were let out into an opening, and I admired the view; until I seen Markus walk onto a metal bridge. It collapsed in front of him, and he stumbled as he ran backwards.

I now understood how Hank felt all those times I almost died.

"Markus! Be careful, what are you doing??" I didn't mean to yell, but I couldn't keep it in.

"I'm alright." He paused as he turned his head to look at me. "Do you trust me?" He questioned.

Quite frankly: I didn't know. So far I have, and we haven't died yet.

"Uh, y-yes. I trust you." He smiled, and told me to follow him.

"Be careful." He said as he helped me climb this old, rustic, tower thing, until we made it to the top.

"You're not scared of heights, are you?" Markus questioned.

"It's a bit late for that, don't you think?" He chuckled, as he looked straight out. The tower's ledge led out far. Maybe 45 extra feet out?

It was thin too.

Markus held my hand as we walked along it.

"I don't see any art out here." I joked. He looked below us at the giant square hole in the ground. Inside the hole was water, and I wondered if he was gonna jump in it.

"If I jump, will you?" He asked. He didn't have one ounce of fear upon his face. I wondered correctly.

"U-Um.. I, uh, I promised two of my friends I would stop trying to get myself killed." He looked confused, so I slowly brought the top of my shirt down a little to reveal the slightly-healed gun wound.

"Woah, are you alright?" He looked concern.

"Yeah, it just hurts a small bit if I move too fast, or too much. If we're gonna do this, let's just get it done with." I changed the topic; feeling a bit queasy thinking about the shot again. I had been trying to get my mind away from the thought, and for the most part, this has been working.

"Do you want to wait until I go? Or do you wanna go together?"

Well, if I were to drown, I would want him to be there with me, so...

"Let's go together. Just in case-- but, why are we doing this, might I ask?"

"I don't know." Is all he said before pulling me with him as he jumped."

At least my phone is waterproof. God damn.

Connor's POV

Connor's shift had ended, so he decided he would go to Sam's place to see how she was doing.

He knocked on the door several times, but there was no response. Maybe she was asleep?

Her door was unlocked; which he didn't think was very safe, but he walked in anyway.

"Sam?" Connor sulked around trying to listen to any noise he could. Even some light breathing would make him feel better.

Still nothing.

He panicked as he called hank; Connor's LED blinking a bright red.

"I just got away from you. What do ya want?" He already sounded annoyed.

"I'm at Sam's house. She's not home, and her car is still here!" It was almost as if Connor was worried, and this time, he let that small feeling pass through; he didn't try to push it away.

"What?? Where is she at, then? I swear to fuck, that girl is literally begging for a god damn death wish!"

After a few minutes, Hank showed up to Sam's house to pick up Connor.

"Do you have any clue as to where she might be? You've known her longer." Connor asked, feeling more on-edge than ever.

Hank shook his head as he shrugged his shoulders. "She doesn't usually do anything, or go anywhere besides work. She probably has her phone-- why didn't you try to call her??" Connor looked down at his lap.

That would've been smart.

Hank watched as Connor called, only using his mind.

"H-Hello? Who's this?" She sounded rather quiet, and Connor was confused.

"It's Hank and Connor. Where are you, you aren't home?" Connor asked, fidgeting with his quarter.

"Oh, hey! I'm with my friend. I'm alright, don't worry about me."

"That's what you said when you were hangin off the building!" Hank yelled. "Where are you? You need to stay home and rest."

Connor and Hank heard a man talking through Sam's phone.

"Sam, we have to keep moving, can you please tell them you have to go?"

Connor needed to know where she was. He didn't feel right.

"No, Sam-- please. Where are you??" Connor questioned. It was the third time one of them had asked her, and she still didn't answer.

"I'm alright, Connor. I'll be back home in a few hours. Stop worrying; also, please tell Hank I'm sorry." Sam hung up, and Hank and Connor sat there baffled.

"Should we wait at her house??" Hank asked. Connor knew Hank was angry, but he also knew he was worried.

"Just drop me off, lieutenant. I'll call you when she gets home." Hank nodded grudgingly as he dropped Connor off.

Connor sat on her couch and waited patiently for her to come home.

What an eventful couple of weeks.

Connor thought to himself. He decided to make her some food for when she got home, just in case she hadn't eaten anything.
