Sam’s POV

So I came up with a plan. I'd take Connor to the evidence room (because I have a key) and let him figure out where Jericho is on his own, so I'll still have a clear conscious; then I'll come with him when he goes to find Markus, and I'll see where things go from there.

As we walked to the evidence room, Gavin sulked his way behind us with a smirk on his face.

“What are you two doin back here? Tin can is suppose to be going to Cyberlife right now, and a pretty girl like you deserves to be doing something fun.”

I rolled my eyes, and turned around to look at him.

“H-He’s just putting the evidence he has, in the room before he leaves.” I lied. Connor nodded, but Gavin still seemed suspicious.

“I wanna see for myself--"

“W-Well, how about we do something.. fun? Who cares about Connor?” I stuttered awkwardly. His smirk grew, and he nodded.

He pushed me against the wall, and was now faced away from Connor. This was Connor’s queue to enter the room, but before he did, I noticed something odd. And it kinda made me a bit happy.

His LED was a bright read, and he genuinely looked jealous.

It showed he actually cared, and that made me happy.

Gavin pushed himself against me, and held onto my waist firmly. I unenthusiastically kissed back, and rested my hands on the sides of his face.

He pulled away, and smiled.

“God, you don't know how long I've wanted to do that. Maybe you don't feel that way toward Connor, afterall.”

I tried to hide it, but wow I just fucked up. My facial expression had a pure and utter uh-oh look upon it

He looked confused for a split second, until I pulled his face up to mine again, and kissed him.

Well shit.

Don't get me wrong-- he's a fine piece of work-- but I just can't like him in that type of way. Even if I tried.

After a few minutes, Connor finally came out of the room.

He lightly pulled Gavin away from me, and sent him a dirty look. I smiled to myself as I looked down at the floor.

Gavin smirked, and pushed out a small chuckle as he spoke.

“What? Is the piece of plastic is getting jealous?” He mocked.

“What is there to be jealous of? Come on, Sam; I know where to go.” I snorted on accident from laughing, and followed Connor through the precinct, and to my car.

“Nice burn.” I said with a huge smile. He didn't respond as he got in the driver’s seat.

“Are you okay?” I questioned, lightly setting my hand on his (which was on his lap.)

He closed his eyes for a second-- LED still shining a vibrant red-- and sighed.

“It's nothing. I just didn't enjoy watching you two french kiss.” He looked over to me, and his lips were formed into a straight line.

“I didn't either. I prefer kissing someone else.” I replied nonchalantly. His lips quirked up into a small smile, and his LED whirred down to a yellow, and soon to the light blue it usually was.

I handed my keys to him, and he started the car.

“We should probably go to Hank’s first.” I said. He tilted his head as his eyebrows furrowed together.

“To make you look more deviant. I don't know if they'll let you in if you look like this.” I shrugged, and got my phone out. He nodded in agreement, giving me permission to call Hank and ask.

“What do you want, darlin?” He asked in annoyance.

“Can Connor borrow some of your clothes for a small bit?”

“Why does he need clothes?”

“Um.. for a social experiment..?” I cringed, and hoped the excuse would work.

“What kind of social experiment are you doin? And why are you doin it??” He sighed into the phone as he spoke.

“Uh, it doesn't matter. Can we Hank?”

“Yeah, whatever. Wash em when your done, I guess.” I thanked him, and ended the phone call.

“Okay, let's go.”

*~*~*

About two hours later, he got his clothes, and we had finally finished all the graffiti.

How many times do I have to do that??

We were now at the edge of the bridge, looking down at the hole that we had to jump through to get inside.

From beside me, I heard Connor making a call to the station.

Crap! He's telling them where we are!

“Uh, let's jump!” I suggested nervously.

“I don't think you should. It's thirty-seven degrees fahrenheit, and you might come out with a cold-- or worse, a possible case of pneumonia.” I looked into his eyes, and it all of the sudden felt a million degrees. Mentally. Not physically.

“It's fine, Con. I'll live. Now let's do this before I feel like backing out-- and I cannot back out right now. I'd fail my mission.” I winked, and watched as his face turn a light shade of blue.

He nodded hesitantly, and held my hand.

“Are you ready..?” He asked shyly. I kissed his cheek and nodded.

“I kind of have to be.” I lightly tugged on his arm, and once I did, both of us jumped off in sync.

Let's hope this goes as planned.
