Sam’s POV
Markus said in his speech to the deviants, that they would protest once more in a few days. He wanted me there with them, but since I came down with a small cold he had to hold it off; so I would still be able to join them.
Now, the cold was gone, and there was only one more day before he held the protest.
Connor had been staying with me these past few nights because of my slight sickness, so he drove the both of us to the station; and once we both checked in, I headed straight to Captain Fowler’s office.
I wanted to convince him to let Connor stay-- maybe he could get Cyberlife to agree.
“Miss Parker, is there a problem?” He turned around in his chair to face me, and I nodded.
“Yes, I was wondering if maybe… Maybe Connor could stay and work on the force..? Instead of going back to Cyberlife? All they are going to do with him is shut him down! They don't even--"
Captain Fowler shook his head as he sighed.
“--Parker, they called in for him, therefore; we have to give him to them. You can't convince me to--"
“--I'll do anything! Please!” I interrupted him as I pled. I can't let Connor get deactivated! Not after all the things we've been through-- not now. Not ever.
“Samantha! I am a married man! You cannot bribe your way into this with anything dirty like that!” He looked at me for a second, and I stared back with confusion and shock spread across my face.
“I-I meant like, clean the bathrooms, or organize files and such… Not--"
“--Oh. I apologize, then.. I um, I guess you are right.. He technically did find the deviant leader before the Feds.. Plus, Cyberlife would most likely just throw him out.” He paused for a second, then spoke up about a deal.
“How about you clean the storage closet, and we never speak of this conversation again, alright? I'll talk to some people at Cyberlife for you, just.. Just don't ever tell anyone about this conversation..” He finished awkwardly.
I chuckled nervously and nodded.
"Y-Yeah, that's fine. Thanks!” I sped out of the office, and to Connor’s desk.
Hank still wasn't at work; but that's expected on most days.
As Connor scrolled through the cases on the computer, I sat next to it; a big grin spreading across my face.
He looked over to me, and smiled.
God I love that smile! He's been doing it so much more since he became deviant-- and every time he does, I feel like I'm falling for him harder and harder.
“Yes, Sam?”
“Sooo, I don't think you have to go back to Cyberlife!! I don't want to jinx it, but Fowler said he is going to try to convince them to let you stay!!” I squealed.
He stood up abruptly, and stood in between my legs; wrapping his arms around me. I gasped in shock, and he slightly pulled away.
“Are you alright? I--"
“Y-Yes, I'm fine. You just surprised me is all.” It was silent for a moment; so I pulled his face up to mine, and gently pushed my lips against his.
The kiss was passionate and tender; and I didn't want to pull away, but of course, I had to.
Stupid human lungs.
“What was that for?” He asked. I shrugged, as I tried to hide the big stupid grin on my face.
“I guess you could say I have a strong passion for you..” He beamed, and stepped away so I could get off the desk. “I have to go clean the storage closet now. I’ll be back out in-- God, who knows how long.”
