Chapter 1; Awake

Felix POV.

A smell of disinfectant rises into my nose. My body feels limp and my eyes feel so heavy and it really hurts to try to open them. Its like someone put weights on my eyelids, to prevent me from opening them. Somehow, I forced my eyes open, just to squeeze them tight, as soon as I looked at the white ceiling above me. Where am I. Slowly a beep sound is increasing in my ear and my head starts to throb. I can recognize voices from far away, but don't know who it belongs to. One more time I open my eyes, first the sight is blurry but after 5 seconds I can see two people, who are talking to each other. I wanted to touch my head, but instead I just feel a bandage around my head. I lifted my right arm, only to see a cast with blue bandage wrapped around my forearm and hand. I sighed. What happened to me?

"Yeah and- " As soon as I looked in to Chan's eyes, he stops his sentence and is walking straight to my side, followed by a man in a white coat. My brother cautiously took my hand in his, so gentle, as if he could just break it by only touching my hand. "How are you, does anything hurt?" He asked worriedly. I smiled weakly at him and spoke with a hoarse voice "I'm okey, my head just hurts a little.... But why am I in a hospital Chan and why do I have a cast?" I asked and pointed at the blue bandage. He looked me in to the eyes "You don't know?" I just shook my head. He strokes my hand and runs his fingertips over my venous access. "You- ...You had an accident... a car hit you.... You were in coma for two weeks, I- I was so afraid that you wouldn't wake up anymore." I grasp his hand and squeeze it a little bit to reassure him "But now I'm awake." I noticed his red eyes and his dark eye-bags, he looks like if he didn't sleep a wink trough this weeks.

The man behind my brother cleared his throat to get my attention "Hello Felix, my name is Woojin and I am the doctor who is responsible for your recovery, you broke your right forearm and crashed 2 ribs of yours, also your legs-"Chan interrupted Woojin. "Felix..." He began "Your legs... don't panic " What is with my legs. I tried to kick the blanket, but I couldn't feel my legs at all. I panicked and threw the blanket over to see both of my legs . But why can't I feel them. "Ch-Chan, why c-can't I move my legs or f-feel them anymore!" Slowly tears streamed down my cheeks. "Your legs got badly injured by the car, the fraction underneath your knees is very complicated, that we can't do anything." "What does that mean!" I screamed, and Chan tried to calm me down. "The surgery was without success Felix, you can't walk anymore, you will need a wheelchair now, we are truly sorry Felix." Woojin spoke softly, but his words were just too much for me. I swatted Chan's hand away "No...no, no I don't need a wheelchair!" I growled, and my tears started to increase "You're lying both of you! Liar!"

My head was aching more and more. "Felix, please calm down." Chan wanted to touch my hand again, but I yanked my hand away. I tried to get rid of the venous access. "What are you doing!" Woojin was fast to stop me by doing so. Chan held me down by my arms and looked straight in to my puffy eyes. "Felix you need to calm down okey, I know its hard to accept it but please Lix don't do anything to worsen your health more." Loud sobs left my dry lips. Chan sat on the edge of the bed and soon I felt warm hands under my armpits that were lifting me gently onto his lap. My body didn't even fight as he wrapped his arms around my waist. I wrapped my arms around his neck and sobbed into his chest. While Chan was stroking my back to calm me down. "Sh, Lix you need to stop crying your headache will just get stronger, okey" I nodded but my tears didn't stop. "I will be here, we can do that together, Lix" I felt how someone took my hand and let something in my venous access. "I gave you something that will make you drowsy, so you can sleep and calm down." Woojin said and let go of my hand. "I will give you some privacy now." Woojin left the room and closed the door behind him. Slowly I started to feel drowsy and couldn't keep my eyes open. The last thing that I know was that I felt something wet on my head. Chan was crying. He tightened his grip around me and whispered, "I'm sorry Lix, I never wanted that to happen to you" After that I fell asleep.
