IX

I woke up after sleeping too long, and I felt drained. The room was dark and quiet, the music and noises were gone. As I looked at my phone I saw that it was midnight already. My nap ended up being 9 hours long, but I still felt tired and exhausted. My stomach rumbled and I got up to make myself something to eat.

As I opened my door I saw that no one was home. It was dark and quiet, Jungkook's door was open with no one inside. I went to get a closer look and switched on the lights. The sheets were messy and clothes were laying around.

There was a bottle standing by his bed. I went to pick it up, to see what it was and saw that it was something alcoholic. The bottle was almost empty. I got angry and scared at the same time.

Why is Jungkook behaving like that? Who drinks on a Sunday, when they have to be at college the next day?

I thought of the fight we had earlier, and the anger that was in his face. I began to worry about him. Even though he hurt my feelings, I still felt responsible for him, since he is not able to look after himself. I left his room and switched off the lights again.

I tried to call him a few times but there was no answer, so I decided to look for him. I picked my jacket and keys and went outside where my car parked. It was already pretty dark outside so I didn't really know what to do or where to look. But something in me just told me that I have to do this.

I started my car and drove a bit around. He couldn't be that far away, could he? I drove for 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, still, I couldn't find him anywhere.

I decided to call Yun because I had a feeling he might have gone to some party.

"Hey, Yun. You have to help me out."

"Hi Jandinie, what's the matter?"

"Just tell me, is there any party today you know of?"

Yujin had to think a few minutes.

"Maybe someone you know is throwing a party at their house?", I said since there are not really any clubs open at a sunday and at this time.

"Oh! I remember now. I've got invited to this guys house but I'm not going."

"Send me the location please."

I hung up and received a message from Yun with a picture attached. It was a screenshot with a guy she saved as D.

[D, 4:02 pm]: hey pretty, i enjoyed last time

[D, 4:02 pm]: wanna hang out later? throwin a lil party at my place

[D, 4:34 pm]: here my address: ---------------

[Yun, 6:04 pm]: sry, got plans tonight! can come around next week tho ;)

I shook my head at their conversation and quickly started my car. I rushed to the place, it was actually not that far from our place. When I arrived I saw a big house, surrounded by a big yard.

Seems like that D guy is some richkid. I parked my car and got out of it, hearing the loud music as I did so.

Two guys stood outside, near where I parked, so I decided to ask them.

"Hey, there. Have you seen a guy called Jungkook?" They shook their heads and looked at me clueless.

"Mhh, he's a bit shorter than you, brown hair, big bambi eyes, dressed in all black... and probably extremely drunk."

"Ahhh, that guy." They both laughed. "We saw him at the back of the house."

"Thank you!", I said and quickly rushed to the entrance. The door was not locked so I opened it and looked inside.

It was pretty dark, with some red lights shining through clouds of smoke that didn't smell like the smoke coming from cigarettes.

I made my way through people dancing and making out to the loud music and found the backdoor. I got outside and looked for Jungkook.

As I tilted my head to the right side, I saw someone looking like him, loudly arguing with two guys. I slowly walked towards them to only to see Jungkook being beaten in his face by one of the guys and falling to the ground.
