Calum's POV

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to do it.

Did Malia write this? She should have, this was from her journal after all. What did she do that she didn't mean to?

It was dated 2011, so it could've been something she did when we already knew each other.

What could she have done before that she was apologizing for?

I've been roaming around Ashton's office here in Suburban Blues for the past thirty minutes. He left me here to figure this note out while he work but I couldn't figure out what this note was about.

"Any luck?" Ashton peeked his head in.

I groaned and sat back down on his chair, "No, it's like finding a needle in a haystack. I thought I knew Malia, but turns out I really didn't."

"Could it be related to the fire?" Ashton suggested and I furrowed my eyes. He's getting at something and he has a point, but what?

I mean, she couldn't possibly set the house on fire on purpose herself, right? That's straight on absurd.

I shrugged and folded the paper, chucking it inside my jacket. "I'll take this. I have to go somewhere. Please look out for June. She's kind of you know, with what happened last night."

"I wasn't really filled in with what happened last night, care to share?" Ashton crossed his arms. I completely forgot that nobody yet know the reason June ran away.

I took a peek outside to look at June and I discreetly whispered at Ashton, "She uh, somehow learned that she's adopted."

"Wait, really? So she knows she's Maya?"

"Shh, no, just that she's not related to her father, and let's keep it that way." I dismissed and slipped out of Ashton's office, with him following behind me.

The store wasn't packed like earlier so I stopped in front of June, "Hey, I'm going somewhere but I'll pick up lunch, anything you want?"

No response.

"Are you seriously ignoring me?"

No reponse.

She kept on clicking through her phone like nobody was there besides her. "You can't ignore me forever."

Still no response.

"Fine. I'll get whatever and you're going to eat it." I was fed up. She was being childish about it. Even if she doesn't say it, I know she's still pissed about the 'me not wanting to have sex with her' thing.

I eyed Ashton as if telling him to look after June and I shook my head, walking out of the store.

June's POV

"Okay, what was that about?" Ashton immediately asked the moment Calum walked out of the store door.

I shrugged as a response which only made him frustrated.

Was I too petty for ignoring him because of what happened? Yes, but I was so embarrassed by it. I'm not mad at him, okay maybe a little pissed but you get it, it's not you it's me type of thing.

"June." He warned.

"Why are you grilling me? How about what were you two girls gossiping back in your office?" I sassily answered back. I know they were talking about me but I didn't think much of it.

Ashton suddenly moved awkwardly and he cleared his throat, "It's just uh band stuff."

"Band stuff? Oh so he told you about that time we were walking in NYC and a girl recognized him and asked for an autograph?" I questioned.
