June's POV
I didn't realize I fell asleep with my outside clothes until I woke up, still lying on my stomach on my bed.
Duke licked my face which made me wake up completely. I reached for my phone and saw that there were two messages, all from the same person.
From: Spider-Man 🕸
Sorry, I couldn't be there tonight.
Uh, did Mac and Jax stay the night?
Malcolm and Jackson? They didn't stay the night here, did they? I asked them all to leave.
I walked over to my door and when I opened it, all of them were sprawled on the living room. The girls were on the couch and the boys shared the floor.
I took a picture of Malcolm and Jackson hugging and sent it to Tom.
Instead of waking them up, I made myself a hot chocolate and walked over to one of small couches, opening up Netflix.
I picked one episode of Brooklyn Nine Nine, the one with the Backstreet Boys opening. God this doesn't get old.
When the theme song started, all of them woke up, some of them glared at me. "Really? June?"
"I told you guys to go home last night." I ignored their glares.
I heard a bunch or sorrys from the group while some of them went to the bathroom and the kitchen.
Malia walked over to me and I offered her my hot chocolate to which she took a sip on. "I know you wanted us to leave, but we won't. June-"
"Mals, not this again-"
"No, you listen to me. June, it's okay to be sad, to be upset, to cry. But you don't have to do it alone. We're here for you, always. Please don't push us away." What she said hit me like a ton of bricks.
Ever since what happened to Calum, I've kept it all to myself. I thought I had to be strong in front of him, so I did.
"I'm sorry." Was all I could speak out.
Nobody spoke a word after that. Jackson ordered a bunch of pizzas until they had to leave for their classes.
When I got to my class, everybody was whispering. It's been the usual for the past week, whispering about Calum, yet they can't seem to actually ask me about anything, they just assume.
"She cheated on him and he had to move. Calum didn't really get into an accident." I heard one of the students behind me spoke.
I grew tired of listening to all of their bullshit and even though I know they're not true, it still hurts because they're all attacks on me.
Someone suddenly sat beside me and when I looked up, it was Tom. He smiled at me and my face automatically lit up at the presence of a familiar and friendly face.
"Don't listen to them. You know deep inside what the truth is." He spoke in an American accent.
I looked at him confused, "What?"
"What happened to your accent?"
His eyed widened, clearing his throat, "Uh well, I was trying to practice my accent for the uh..."
He trailed on and I finished his sentence for him, "Movie? Right. Spider-man. Peter Parker's American hence the accent. Are you okay?"
"Yeah, just a little peachy." A little peachy? I chuckled at his use of vocabulary but I shrugged it off.
