Calum's POV
"So who are you and June dressing up as?" Sydney asked. Sydney offered me an internship in her father's company.
I know, I know, we have our own company, but Mr. Hawkins' company is nearer and ever since I moved out of the house, I told myself I'd live on my own, which means that I won't be using my father's money anymore.
Well, I managed to buy the apartment using my own money from the time I worked at my father's company and without a stable income, I can't possibly survive. My parents already paid for my university tuition and that's the last money I'll ever ask of them.
Also, since June moved to New York, the only money she has is her savings from Suburban Blues and that's not enough. She has too much on her plate to work now.
Her father paid half of her tuition and the other half was from a student loan. My parents offered to handle the other half but Uncle Frank refused in which I understood. He prides himself of having June graduate on his own and I admire him for that.
June doesn't know about this internship because I've only started two days ago and I didn't want her to worry. I'm already a double major, Beta brother, and a soccer varsity, she wouldn't want me adding internship in the list.
It's better if she knows I'm hanging out with the guys rather than overworking myself.
"Dressing up for what?" Sydney decided she'd accompany me while I was at work, which I don't mind but if she disrupts my work, then she's out.
"Halloween! Duh! It's in two weeks yet you don't have any costumes in mind? I'm throwing a Halloween party and so do the Greeks so you need to have at least two couple costumes in order." Why does partying a big deal with these people? It's like there's always a party every weekend, it kinda bums me out.
I've turned Jackson down a couple of times when he wanted to party and I just stay inside with June while she watches whatever Disney movie there is to sleep through with.
"Do we have to dress up? It's ridiculous." I whined, stacking some of the papers and filing them in their correct places.
"Of course! Halloween is all about dressing up, I bet your girlfriend's already planning your costumes."
Sydney stood up and started helping me. She carried some of the papers from the corner and brought them over to me but when she did, she slipped, making the papers fly everywhere.
I immediately went and helped her, picking up every piece paper on the floor.
I looked up the same time as Sydney and I didn't even realize how close we were. Our face were inches apart each other so my only instinct was to move away and that's what I did. I acted as if nothing happened.
"Yeah, uh, let's get these papers filed, huh?"

June's POV
"You're my type."
The moment he said those three words, I couldn't help but laugh out loud. "Wow. Tom, you almost got me there."
He chuckled a bit, shaking his head. "Yeah, well, you almost fell for it." Tom can't possibly like me. We're friends and we'll stay as friends no matter what.
Whomever Tom has a crush on, I decided to let it go. For now. He needs to have a girlfriend, as soon as possible and he's too cute to be passed up.
"So any plans for Halloween? You and Calum coupling up?" Oh yeah. I almost forgot Halloween's coming up. October is my month!
Last year, I got to be Tinkerbell, now who could I be this year? I could pair up with Calum and have our costumes matched this Halloween. That would be cute.
