June's POV

"Maya."

The woman in front of me breathed out. My mother. The woman who supposedly gave birth to me. The woman who left me to die in that God-forsaken burning house.

"Don't call me that. That's not my name."

Luke held on my shoulder to try to calm me down as I was already fuming in anger the moment I laid my eyes on her.

"June. Please. We need to talk."

"No, we don't have anything to talk about. I want you to leave now." I walked past her and opened the apartment door, letting myself in.

And of course, Ellie followed, with Luke behind. "Ellie, please leave." Luke asked her.

Sarcastically, I spoke, "Yes. Ellie. Please leave. I have already too much on my plate right now and I don't need the woman who left me in that burning house to add to it." The rage in voice was obvious, and by the looks of Luke, I think I scared him a little bit, I'm kinda scared too.

Ellie started tearing up, "I didn't mean to leave you there, you have to believe me."

"Really?! Then did you even bother to come back and look for me?! No, you did not! Six years 'mom' six years!" I made sure to exaggerate the word 'mom,' air quoting it.

"I did look for you! I followed you!" She reasoned out.

"What, by stalking me?! Do you know how many times I got injured, I got emotionally terrified, thinking that my life could be in danger because of you?!" I spat out.

Duke barked at her over and over and Luke tried to calm him down.

By this time, I was so frustrated already. Tears were starting to form in my eyes. Not tears of joy nor sadness but tears of anger. I hate her. I didn't know how much I hate her until I learned that she was my stalker.

She's been stalking me for more than a year. She knew who I was, yet she never bothered to approach me.

I've been longing for a mother for God knows how long.

She didn't even plan on meeting me. She just accidentally saw me when my sistereft her phone in her fucking car.

"That wasn't my intention!"

"Then what?! Were you just going to stalk me forever?!"

"I couldn't just knock on your door and tell you that, 'Hi, I'm your long lost mother'."

"So stalking me was the better way?"

Ellie ran out of words.

"Maya.."

"Don't! Don't call me that! You lost that right when you left me."

Luke's POV

June was fuming in anger. I've never really seen her this mad, in fact, I've never really seen her get mad, and it is terrifying.

"I got separated from my sister because of you!"

"Ma-" Ellie was interrupted when June suddenly grabbed her head as if it was aching.

I immediately walked over to June to see if she was okay, but it was far from that. She held onto me, her head resting on the crook of my neck, "Please, get her out of here."

Her hands held onto my shirt, crumpling it. Ellie walked over but I stopped her, "Don't, you've done enough."

I grabbed June's shoulders and walked her inside of her room.
