June's POV

"Are you okay, honey?" Mikhaela spoke on the screen. I was home alone as Calum's in class.

I kept my bestfriend updated with everything that happened with Calum. I know I shouldn't have burdened her with my problems as she only have less than two months 'til her due date. I didn't want to stress her out but she's the only person I could run into.

"We haven't had a proper conversation for a week and Thanksgiving is getting near. I want us to be okay before that day." Calum and I haven't talked about Thanksgiving so I don't know if I should be booking two plane tickets for us or what.

I mean, I assume he'a going home but I don't really know how to talk to him about it.

"Hey, you're going to be okay. You're Jalum, you have to. J, I uh, you know why Calum took this too seriously?" I shook my head and she continued, "Luke mentioned before that Calum was a real mess after that baby thing. He uh, J, he's had trust issues ever since but right now he trusted you fully again, and you kinda broke it."

Well shit.

"I'm not blaming you but June, I'm your bestfriend and I'm supposed to tell you if you're wrong." I wouldn't have it any other way. I'd choose a sole bestfriend who'll tell me if I'm wrong rather than a thousand fake friends who'll encourage me to still do wrong.

"I'm screwed now, am I?" She gave me faint look before shaking her head.

She sighed, "Well, you are, but it doesn't mean that you can't fix it. Calum loves you so much. I suggest you just give him the space he needs first."

I nodded. We talked for a little while before she was called by her mom. She left the phone running on facetime so a little later, Michael appeared.

"Hey. Everything's going to be okay with Calum, alright?" He gave me a sincere smile and I threw one back.

"Thank you, Mike. I'm sorry I'm dumping all of these on you guys. You already have too much on your pla-"

"Yo yo yo, we're bestfriends. What are bestfriends for?"

How did I get so lucky with my friends?

Third Person's POV

Soccer practice was over about an hour ago, yet the rookie stayed on the field, running laps for the past half an hour.

"He's going to push himself too hard if he doesn't stop." The coach told Jackson, the captain.

Calum's been doing this lately, specifically ever since that fight with June. He needed something to keep his mind off of her. If it's not the internship, it's soccer practice.

"I'll talk to him." Jackson took his duffel bag and ran towards the field where Calum's still running laps.

"Hey, Hood!" He called out but he got no response, nor did Calum stop.

Jackson he wouldn't be able to stop Calum with just calling him so he ran towards the brown-haired guy and pulled him once he was near him.

"What the fuck Ju-ackson!"

"You need to stop. You'll overwork yourself." Jackson tried to use his authority on his rookie but he knew it was no use.

"Good. That's what I was aiming for." He walked away from his captain and rushed to the bench where he has his things.

Jackson followed as he watched him sit down and drink from his water bottle. He sat beside him.

It was silent for a moment before Jackson spoke, "You can talk to me, you know?"
