The couple stormed out of Wessex Sound Studio after what happened with Sid. Freddie took his stuff, ignored everyone else and left dragging Alice with him. Both Freddie and Alice acknowledged the driver with a nod but no further conversation was exchanged.
The couple were seating on opposite ends of the backseat. Freddie looked outside his window, his head replaying what happened in the studio earlier. She tried to break the silent treatment he was giving her, "The pizza was great."
"Cut the bullshit Alice, just cut the bullshit." Freddie shook his head sideways. He folded his arms tightly to his chest, suppressing his anger.
They were laughing in the studios an hour ago and yet the night ended on a sour note the minute Alice chose to walk into the Sex Pistols' studio. Freddie had no problem with anyone talking to Alice, but it was Sid. The look Sid gave him, was as if to purposely get on his nerves, and to then touch Alice the way he did. He could not understand why Alice would let Sid teach her to play the bass when there is John, and Sid was shit on bass.
"Okay. I was shocked to see him, but he insisted to invite me over. I just went 'Hi' and introduced myself, I greet everyone like that." Alice explained herself. She turned her body towards Freddie and reiterated, "Nothing happened love."
"I don't care," Freddie muttered under his breath. He could not even look at her. He could not comprehend why Alice had to be overly friendly with other guys, more so with Sid-Fucking-Vicious.
"I heard his music, we talked about music. Then he let me play on his bass," Alice clarified pulling the seatbelt she was wearing away from her chest. It felt like the seatbelt was gripping her body tight as she tried to explain herself to Freddie.
"You're ridiculous!" Freddie yelled slamming his fist to his thigh.
"What?" Alice paused stunned. "All right fine. I keep trying to leave but he was insistent to show me around the studio and..."
Freddie cut Alice off as he looked her in the eyes, "Okay so... If he wanted you there and then you would let it happen?"
"What the fuck are you talking about Fred?" her eyes round, shocked at the question.
"Did you not see how he looked at you?" Freddie asked visibly annoyed.
"You're being paranoid! And he's not my type anyway," Alice answered, crossing her legs.
"Hey listen, listen...." Freddie looked to her starting to lose his temper, his index finger harshly pointing at Alice. He took a deep breath trying not to say anything that he might regret.
"Freddie!" Alice snapped back. "I just met the guy, he shook my hand and might have kissed it but that's all. And he helped to put my fingers on the neck of the bass, we barely touched. We weren't bloody humping in there, why are you like this?!" Freddie never talked to her in a harsh manner, she was confused at his sudden jealousy; he was always understanding about these things. He trusted her and now it was a total 180.
"No! You're wrong," Freddie looked out the car, too enrage to face Alice in the conversation.
"I'm not wrong here!" Alice defended herself.
"Oh shut up."
"Don't tell me to shut up!" her voice croaked trying to swallow the tears.
"I don't understand you," Freddie mumbled under his breath, "You drive me crazy."
"Fine, if I drive you crazy then why are you with me?" Alice grumbled looking away. She positioned her body to face the car door instead of Freddie.
"Oh god," he cringed at her answer, biting his nail. Moments later, he stole a quick glance towards Alice, her nose was red with tears streaming down her cheeks. Fuck.
