"Can you sayyyyy... HELLO?" Freddie asked his daughter eagerly. She was so small seating on his chest, she weighed like a feather to him.
"Yello..." Elle cried back. Alice leaned to the side of the door, a grin formed on her face. Freddie could comm...
The morning after, the sky was bright blue with thick clouds hovering. The birds were chirping with warmth and the sound of koi fishes swimming in the pond came through the bedroom window. Alice rubbed her eyes and found herself hugging a pillow, the warmth of the sun hitting her back. She rolled herself to the side and looked around the room, Freddie was gone. She took a deep breath and stared at the ceiling, concentrating on the sound of cars passing by the house.
Suddenly she felt like vomiting, again. Swiftly she pushed the covers and ran to the washroom, the second she ducked her head down, the contents of her stomach went out of her. She felt intense spasm in her stomach, her eyes watery while catching her breath. The sound of footsteps was heard just as Alice flushed the toilet. She went to the sink and gargled, her throat felt painful from the vomit. Phoebe appeared at the doorway, "Did you just vomit again?"
"Uhuh..." Alice accidentally squeezed too much toothpaste on the toothbrush.
"Freddie went to his mom's, he'll be back soon. I think he's trying to get his mom to make her famous Persian chicken soup," Phoebe informed her looking wary and concern. "I made your favourite smoothie downstairs, and oatmeal. You should eat."
"Noted Phoebs, I'll be right down." Alice brushed her teeth. She began to wonder as she stared at herself in the mirror, how she became unwell. She suspected it was food poisoning but Freddie was not affected, and he ate more pizza than her. Alice looked down to her stomach, her tummy still protruding despite all the vomiting she had done.

After a quick shower, Alice went downstairs to see her healthy breakfast waiting on the kitchen table top. She slid herself on the high chair and glanced to Phoebe, he was writing on a scrap of paper, making his groceries list before he goes to his Daily Farmer's Market visit.
"What do you have Alice, the flu?" he looked up from the paper to meet her eyes.
"I don't know..." she took a sip of the smoothie.
"God I hope you're not pregnant," Phoebe blurted out, putting down the pen.
Alice laughed in a sarcastic tone, "That's impossible, I've been on birth control even before we dated." But slowly it weighed on her like a tonne of brick, Birth Control have a 99% success rate, what if she was the 1 out of 100 woman who was unsuccessful. Alice shook her head sideways shaking the thoughts away, just the mere thought of being a mother was scaring her. The phone on the wall suddenly rang, Phoebe stood up and promptly answered it.
"Yello Roger! Yeah, they're okay now. She was nauseous at one point though last night," Phoebe casually replied in between pauses, looking back and forth to Alice. Alice squinted her eyes, peeved at how invested Roger is in Freddie and her. "Yes, Freddie told you? She did vomit yesterday, and this morning too! Exactly! That's what I thought, that she's probably pregnant." Phoebe said the last word a pitch higher to get a reaction from Alice.
