By a quarter to 6 in the evening, Freddie and Alice had arrived in Nottingham via the chauffeur. Alice was nervous the car had to stop two times on the road so that she could go to the toilet to relieve herself. Once they arrived, they walked to the front door hand-in-hand. Freddie patted her shoulder, like a coach encouraging a player, "You'll be fine love."

Seconds after ringing the doorbell, Freddie's parents appear at the door looking like they've put up an effort. The Prodigal Son had returned to Nottingham! His father, Bomi, is thoroughly dapper and warm, complimenting the deep furrows beneath his eyes. His mother, Jer, is wearing a cute dress in cream color. Alice was wearing baggy clothes as to not make her pregnancy obvious so that Freddie could make the big announcement.

"And you must be Alice," Jer said looking up to her with a soft smile. Internally she felt the need to call her mom but realize it would be too soon.

"Hello! Nice to meet you!" Alice shrieked a pitch too high. Freddie suppressed an incoming laughter, a nervous Alice is amusing to him. They ushered both Freddie and Alice into the house and they all sit silently for a second.

"Baba, mama! I know I've just arrived less than a minute ago but---" Freddie started, and then stop to cough. He placed one hand on Alice's knees and then continued, "Well, we have an announcement to make!"

His parents mouth dropped down into a big smile, not knowing how they should react: shocked, happy, disappointed?

"The fact of the matter is," Freddie paused to look at Alice for that one glance of encouragement. Alice smiled back with a slight nod, he announced loudly, "We are pregnant!"

Jer leapt up to her feet almost immediately, "Oh my dear, that's lovely!" She reached out to Alice for a hug and she stood up to embrace her. Alice felt a tear forming at the corner of her eyes, Jer's reaction was what she had hoped her own mother, Agatha, to have.

"Child, how far along are you?" Jer asked breaking away from the hug to look at her stomach. She looked up to Alice as if to ask permission to rub her tummy. Alice swiftly took her palm and placed it directly on her belly. "Oh my let me guess, 5 months?"

Freddie leaned in trying to seize some of the attention Alice was receiving, "Four mama, four months!"

"Oh wow, you are going to have a big healthy baby. I just know it," Jer insisted smiling ear to ear. She looked back to her husband who smiled back. His father always had reservations about Freddie and his sexuality, but he had always been accepting of Freddie regardless.

Grandchildren. Jer had talked about grandchildren more times Freddie could remember. Every visit he made would be filled with random melancholy statements like When are you giving me a grandchild, I'm not getting any younger. Whenever Freddie visited her she would show Freddie around the bungalow and explain that the interior design she went for was baby-friendly. Freddie looked back lovingly to both her mom and Alice, they were embracing each other in a hug, weeping and murmuring to each other.

"Congratulations son!" Bomi said, wrapping his arms on his eldest's shoulder. "Us Bulsara man never miss our target!" Freddie snickered, his father always had a dry sense of humor.

Before dinner was served, Freddie was insistent for Alice to see his bedroom upstairs. It was not the room that he grew up in but the room had all his treasures and memories from growing up. The minute he opened the door, the first thing Alice noticed was the plush red carpet, poster-ridden walls and the white frame bed. It was very simple compared to their lavish Garden Lodge abode.

"I know this isn't the best time but we are in a room full of your stuff from back when you were growing up, and I have one question: is that a Stretch Armstrong doll?" Alice asked her index finger pointing to the book shelves. On the middle shelf were some toys from when he was a child, before he was sent to boarding school.
