Niall clearly doesn't come around here too much, he doesn't seem to know where anything is.

"Told you to let me drive," I sarcastically shake my head.

"Don't pretend you're familiar with the area," He laughs, he has a loud laugh.

"Probably a bit more familiar than you, though."

"Where you from, Leah?" He changes the subject. "Arizona," I tell him. That makes me wonder about my mom and how she's doing.

"Wow, long journey here, then?" He asks.

"Seven hours." I sigh. "Where in Arizona?"

"Sedona." I sigh again, California is nothing like it was back home.

"I've never been to Arizona." He says.

"I've never been to Ireland," He makes a fake gasping noise. "The greatest country in the world and you've never been?"

"If it's so great, why are you here and not there?" I hope he doesn't take that rudely.

He shrugs. "I like it here, too." He looks very focused on the road.

"Where in Ireland are you from?"

"I lived in Mullingar with my father and my brother." The way he says the words father and brother make me laugh because of his accent. Fader, bruder.

"How long you been here then?" I ask. He counts in his head. "Like, five years."

He must miss home. I've been gone for not barely a month and I already miss home. I miss my mom and my dad, at least. And a few of my friends.

Niall and I end up just finding a restaurant and eating, then driving back to the apartment.

"Do you want to watch a movie?" He asks when we get inside.

"Sure. You pick." I point to the case filled with my DVDs. Julie's door opens and she walks out. "Leah, you home?"

"Yeah, in here." I call back. She appears in the living room and her eyes immediately dart to Niall. "What the hell?" She asks.

"Good to see you too." Niall says, not looking away from all the DVDs.

"What is he doing here?" Julie asks me, as if he isn't in the room still.

"He's going to be staying here tonight." I shrug. Hopefully it doesn't make Julie uncomfortable, seeing as she will have guests over that make me uncomfortable too sometime.

"You don't mind do you?" Niall croaks. He is being sarcastic, it is noteable that he wouldn't care even if Julie did mind.

"I do, actually. I don't feel comfortable with him staying." She crosses her arms and Niall stiffles a laugh. "He is allowed to stay here, I'm allowed to have guests in my own apartment."

"It's my apartment too." She glares at me.

"And when you want to invite someone to stay, that can be your arguement. This in't a big deal, I realize you don't like each other but just ignore him while he stays, okay?" I try to reason. I will not kick and invited guest out of my own home. Temporary home.

"I'm leaving, then." Julie protests. What is up with her?

"That's fine." Niall smiles and moves away from the case. "I want to watch this." He holds up a movie to my face but I don't look at it. I look at my roommate.

"I'll be back when he leaves." Julie scoffs and goes into her room. Moments later, she has a coat and a big bag, and shes slamming the door shut behind her.
