Halldora tentatively opened her hand to look at the key she'd picked out. Her stomach tightened as she realised it wasn't a key to her apartment. In fact, she knew exactly who's key it was. She remembered staring at it before as it usually hung off a jeans pocket. It was an older key, from an older house, and it had a gold ribbon tied to the handle. Torri looked into her hand and she looked disappointed for a second before she smiled. "Triiiistaaan! Looky here!" she called, holding up Halldora's hand. Loki looked up sadly from the couch, but unfortunately he didn't say anything.
Halldora was upset that he didn't react at all. Her stomach dropped until she saw Tristan's very nervous, very cute face as he stood up. He was obviously surprised, and when he locked eyes with Halldora his ears went red. Halldora smiled in spite of herself. He was still the sweetie, even though she didn't like him romantically anymore. Torri had gotten impatient, so she pushed them both into the closet and locked it behind them.
In the dark, Halldora could just make out Tristan's silhouette. She stretched her arm out so she could feel where the wall was, and let out a faint giggle. "What?" Tristan whispered, and she could see he'd crossed his arms and was leaning against the other wall.
"Just that, I didn't expect to pick you out of the velvet bag," Halldora smiled, watching him smile too.
"Oh, you expected your roommate?" He asked, "I didn't realise you two were together."
"We're not!" Halldora said loudly, and she could see him straighten up. "I'm sorry, no, we're not together. We just live together because he really doesn't have anyone else," Halldora added, feeling like she was blushing. It was the truth, but in her head she added 'And because we have a deal that if he lives here for a year he gets to propose.'
"Oh! So, he wouldn't be angry if I kissed you?" Tristan asked.
Halldora suddenly stopped, looking at him and blinking quickly. She only missed a beat though, because she suddenly smirked. "You know, it's a part of the game that whatever happens in the closet doesn't mean anything," she replied, and she could see Tristan glow a little pinker.
"Yeah, but I still don't like the idea of kissing someone's girlfriend. Besides, i'd hate to have him come after me if i hurt you," he said.
"How could you hurt me? You're my best friend," Halldora said.
