This had to happened the night before the full moon. As soon as we made it to the kitchens I realized why I hadn't felt my best.
"What's wrong?" Remus put a hand on my shoulder
"Moon's tomorrow." I whispered
"That means...." Remus sighed
"Tomorrow afternoon we'll be sent to the shrieking shack." I nodded
"He knew." Remus sighed
I zoned out completely while Remus spoke to the House elves. I couldn't think of anything but the moon. The pain that would soon seep through my body by morning. The irritability that would accompany the pain. The foggy memory when morning comes.
"Anne? You alright?" Remus caught my attention looking worried
"Yeah." I nodded quickly lying
"I can see the dread in your eyes." Remus sighed and took me out of the kitchen.
"I didn't realize the moon was so close." I sighed
"It sneaks up on you sometimes." He nodded
"Yeah it does." I agreed. "Did the house elves know anything?"
"No. Nothing. They didn't even know Sirius had been near here." Remus shook his head.
"Do you think he'll show up in the shrieking shack tomorrow?" I asked fearfully
"I don't know. If he does I'll be between you and him." Remus vowed
I nodded as we made our way back towards the great hall
