I laughed and then fell silent as the pain intensified.

"The pain is getting worse for you isn't it?" Remus spoke up

I nodded.

"The cold makes everything worse. It always made Remus miserable." Sirius sighed

"You have no idea. The cold makes the pain much more insense. If I could have her whisked back to my office on the potion I would but Dumbledore insists we stay here for the time being just in case someone goes looking." Remus sighed

"You're a saint Lupin." Sirius shook his head smiling

"Don't." Remus shook his head

"It's gonna be a long night with you two." I smiled

"You have no idea." Remus chuckled "It feels good to have one of my friends back."

"After 12 years alone it sure does." Sirus agreed looking at Remus near tears.

"Pads,  you did what you thought was best for James and Lily. You couldn't have known." Remus said

I felt like an outsider watching them. Sirius was broken.
"Moony how could I ever think that you would change your loyalty?"

"How could I think you joined the people you so openly hated?" Remus didn't miss a beat

"I guess we were both stupid huh?"

"Extremely. Me thinking you'd ever put me or James in danger on purpose. You'd die first."

"So would you. But Peter the idiot was literally a Rat. How did none of see it?"

"We saw him as too weak. The perfect bluff?" Remus asked

"I see your point." Sirius sighed "He knew we'd never suspect him."

"He was sneakier than we gave him credit for." Remus huffed

I looked out the window and sighed.

"Hm What's wrong?" Remus asked

"Sunset," I  mumbled

" I see." Remus sighed

Sirius transformed into a giant black dog and laid on the floor under his blanket.

"He makes a  nice dog don't you think?" Remus smiled

Sirius' eyes trained on him in what was surely meant to be a glare.

"I think so. I've always wanted a dog." I grinned

Sirus growled

"Oh come on Padfoot. You used to prance around the grounds trying to get girls to pet just for sport." Remus laughed

Sirius whined as if the memory of his days at school hurt. Suddenly we were greeted with a very sad looking Sirius.

"What is it?" Remus asked

"You forget I'd do that with James. He'd run up behind me shouting at me to come back. The girls would ask if it was his dog he'd say -"

"Merlin no it's Sirius' I'm just walking him"  Remus laughed

I smiled

"They had plenty of those routines," Remus told me

"Yeah yeah, we did." Sirius smiled

"Once we get your name cleared Harry will love to hear this. He loves hearing about his parents." I said

"I'd Imagine he does growing up with Lily's sister," Sirius growled

"You've heard of her?" I asked

"Oh yes. James told me about her. How she treated Lily. I knew she'd treat Harry the same way." Sirius sighed "it's getting dark. I should probably stay a dog. Keep you two inside."

Remus smiled "If you say so Pads."

Sirius transformed again.

I leaned on Remus and closed my eyes "I don't know how much longer I can stay awake."

"You don't have to stay awake. You can sleep if you need to.I'll be here when you wake up." Remus slowly rubbed circles on my back.

I was lulled to sleep quickly by the sound for Remus' breathing.
