Blotches of ink

"Say what you see."

He says, and gives me

Cards of cardboard

I take them, and nod

"I see some swirls,

I see some curls,

I see some tears,

And bottles of beer

I see some trees,

I see some bees,

I see her cry,

Her face is never dry

I see a drum

I see him come

I see fields of wheat

And I see him beat

Her black and blue

Do you see it too?"

I hand them back,

Those cards of white and black

He shakes his head

"Can you try, instead,

To see them again?

I know its a pain

But please, once more."

I felt numb and sore.

"Did I say something wrong?

I see her long

Black wavy hair

There are slippers, a pair.

Blood keeps spilling

As he keeps killing

She hides in fear

It looks so clear

I see witches

And her stitches

Over her scars

She's looking at stars

Hoping everything would

Be better, she should...

I see she should run

He's behind her with a gun

And I hear their-"

"Just stop right there."

Mid-sentence, I stop

Beads of sweat drop

From my head to my neck

"Say, what the heck?

What's wrong with you?

Whatever you do,

Whatever you say,

Let me tell you today

Whatever you think,

They are blotches of ink

Yes, they're just that."

Shocked, there I sat

"But... I hear their screams...

Shattered hopes, shattered dreams...

He pulls the trigger...

She had hoped for something bigger...

I see her fall...

He curls in a ball...

Unable to believe

And unable to leave

Her bloody form

Storm after storm

Pours on endlessly

But thats where he will be

By her side in rain

Till he dies, and sees her again

Forgotten, I lay

Under covers, far away

Crying and crying

They left me, I am dying..."

I sob and I weep

"You can go to sleep..."

I nod again

Unbearable pain

I close my eyes,

And after letting out some cries,

I let the world of dreams

Take me away from their screams...

Take me away from their screams
