The rain is lashing down and beating violently on the glass window filling the room with noise. I watch the raindrops race each other as I stand in our newest hotel room in Dublin, Ireland. The weather has been awful lately I think maybe we have finally lost our beloved summer although It seems like it only lasted a short few weeks. Of course it didn’t but you know what they say … time flies by when you’re having fun and I’ve defiantly been having a lot of that.
I smell my favourite smell in the world, smoke curled with a summery perfume scent and I get pulled backwards with a cute giggle coming from the person behind me. Cheryl kisses my cheek and after a quick cuddle from she lets me go. “What was that for?” I ask her and I watch her start picking up Paisley’s toys cluttering the small space we have.
“Because I love me little Kimba” She says in a cute voice. The polished floorboards are freezing as my feet lay against them, something about having bare feet in a hotel room makes me uncomfortable and I’m not sure why, it’s kind of strange but I’ve never liked it. From the other bedroom I hear Paisley’s voice talking away to herself and I’m sure not that long ago she was in a in depth conversation with a few of the dolls she packed for our little tour, listening to her amuses me. When did she get so grown up, eh?
“I can’t wait to see you out there again tonight, if you perform anything like last night you might need to get me an ambulance because I don’t think I can take so much slayage is such little time”
Cheryl laughs and looks up from the mess on the floor to smile at me, I can hardly see her face due to her loose thick hair curling around her. She’s set to leave here in just a few hours, I love the tour life. I really do.
“Everyone went wild yesterday when I mentioned you didn’t they?” She laughs ad carries on. “I could tell how red you were turning even under those lights”
“I didn’t know how to react under all their eyes, Paisley was loving the attention though. She’s been waving to your fans like she’s some sort of queen”
“I tell you, she trying to steal them off us! I’m going to have to keep me eye on her”
“Speaking of Paisley she’s gone quiet I better go and see what she’s doing, You know you should be concerned when a toddler falls quiet.
As I had though she is indeed up to mischief. “Paisley!” Her head shoots up as she hears my stern voice and she carefully puts on the lid on my red lipstick which she’s just tipped out of my makeup bag along with half the other stuff I had neatly packed inside. She holds it behind her back and smiles innocently. “Look at the state of you, what have i said about using Mummy’s makeup?” I stand her up and find it hard not to laugh at her attempt to put on the lipstick, I’m not sure she knows where her lips are, she even has a red smudge right in the middle of her forehead.
“I didn’t” She lies, it’s amusing that she’s even trying to convince me.
“what’s all this on your face then?” She shrugs her shoulders and attempts to jump off the bed but I grab her hand before she gets the chance. “We don’t like lies, remember?” I give her the ’mum’ look and she hands me the lipstick which will now probably be ruined.
“I wanted to look pretty”
“Baby you’re already pretty, you don’t need makeup for that. I’m getting tired of you doing the opposite of everything I tell you”
“But-“
“No buts, you have to start listening to me and your mam or we’re going to have to start the naughty step again” I attempted and failed at using the naughty step as a discipline option a while ago, she’s strong willed and if she doesn’t want to sit there she won’t and there’s no negotiation with her. The tantrums she was having were worse than the ones I was sitting her on the step for, it was atrocious. “Let’s get you cleaned up so you can help your mam put your toys away then you can have a nice nap so you have lots and lots of energy for tonight”
