Finally Cheryl has a day off after day after day  of constant dancing at her daily rehearsals. It’s a very rare occasion but the sun is out and after spending all day pottering around in the garden all three of us are going out tonight because we have plans to meet our best friends for a bite to eat.

I’m sat on my bed curling my hair and Paisley comes walking through the door with a disappointed look on her face. “Where’s Jessie?” She asks me holding out her empty hands. “She’s lost”

“Is she in your room?” I ask looking at her through the mirror and she shakes her head.

“Gone”

“She’s not gone, why don’t you go and ask Cheryl? She’s just downstairs maybe you’ve left her in the living room” She ignores me and comes walking towards me and she just stands by my side quietly looking through the mirror watching me mess on with my hair.

“What are you doing?”

“I’m curling my hair baby”

“Do mine?” She asks already pulling her bow out not even giving me a chance to reply. Typical, it was a fight to get her to do her hair earlier and after finally managing to do it she’s messing it up. “Make me look like you”

“You want to look like mummy? “

“Mhm” She grins showing me her tiny pearly white teeth. “Like mummy” She bounces the ends of my hair in her hand and I put down the curlers to lift her up in front of me.

“Your hair already looked nice”

“But I want It like mummy” She smiles again and I begin running the brush through her hair which already  has a natural wave to it. She barely even blinks as she watches our reflection not taking her eyes off what I’m doing for a second. She’s fascinated.  Once I finish curling the bottom I slide her white bow back in her hair keeping it from falling in front of her face and she runs both her hands down her face.

“All done” I kiss her head and she holds both sides of the mirror moving her face closer to the glass.

“I look like you” She grins and points at me.

“You do” I agree.

Cheryl comes hopping into the room pulling on one shoe and as I look at her I find myself being taken onto another planet. She has her tiny body squeezed into a short white dress and she’s pulling on matching stiletto heels.

“Look who I found downstairs” She holds Paisley’s Jessie doll up and tosses it to her on the bed. “Wow! Look how beautiful your hair looks!” She coos and Paisley looks over her shoulder looking awfully happy with herself. “Do you know who you look like?”

“Who?”

“Your mummy!”

“I look like mummy” she screeches standing up on the bed and jumping up and down, it’s nice that she wants to look like me. I return my attention back to Cheryl who is now sorting out her rather big hair.

“You look gorgeous” I tell her and she looks up at me bashfully.

“Stop it” She giggles and looks back down paying attention to the small buckle on the side of her very high shoe.  I walk towards her and kneel on the floor. “What are you doing?” She frowns at me and I laugh.

“Don’t worry, im not proposing or anything. Give me your foot”

“You had us worried then” she jokes back and she allows me to easily fasten the small gold buckle on the side of her shoe, im used to walking in high shoes but these look almost impossible to walk in. I stand up and place both hands on her hips and her eyes flicker onto mine. “Thank you”
