This is why I don’t drink. My head is thumping, my eyesight is blurred and the sunlight pouring through the gap in the curtains is only making my state worse than it already was. As soon as my eyes open from the sound off voices coming from the hallway I shut them almost immediately and roll over but I find myself still on the sofa, I don’t even try and listen to who Cheryl is talking to I just want to fall back asleep. My mouth is unbelievably dry and the noise coming from the hallway is sending sharp pains through my head. I manage to pry my eyes open and roll off the sofa. Noticing I have no clothes on I grab the thin blanket spread across the floor and wrap it around myself. I groan as i tilt my head to the side, my neck is stiff. Probably from sleeping on the sofa all night but as I touch it there’s a different kind of pain. I go towards the mirror and examine my scratch marked neck. I can’t even remember how this happened but I can think of who done it. I bet I wasn’t complaining last night.
“Chez?” I croak and I clear my throat as I stick my head around the door frame.
“Go back in there” She says and I frown not liking her tone of her voice. i know it’s early and she’s probably in a matching state to mine but there’s no need to snap like that. She’s hiding under a long t-shirt, her arms are folded and from the look on her face she’s not the slightest bit happy about who is stood at the other side of the door, her neck is like mine only its covered in love bites. We must have had a good time.
“What’s going on?”
“Kimberley?” I hear Jason call my name and I freeze. He can’t talk to Cheryl. He can’t be here.
“What’s he doing here?” I whisper to Cheryl and she shrugs turning to look at me.
“He’s leaving”
“Cheryl could we just have a minute?” I ask, it’s a stupid question really isn’t it? It’s not like I don’t know how she’s going to reply but I just want her away from him, I’m really in no state to argue today.
“No” She bluntly replies half closing the door. “Are you stupid?” She hisses through her teeth in annoyance.
“Just for a minute, I can get him to leave”
“I don’t want you anywhere near him, we’ve spoken about this“
“Cheryl!”
“Well put some fucking clothes on first!” She half shouts.
“Keep the door like that” I quickly jog back into the living room and find my dress from last night sprawled across the carpet. I quickly pull it on not wanting to leave an already irritated Cheryl in his presence for too long, I’m scared of what she might find out from one innocent comment. “What do you want?” I rudely ask holding the door and stepping in front of Cheryl pushing her to the side.
“It looks like someone had a good night” He smirks noticing my marked neck and last night’s dress. He’s probably looking at my hair too, it’s looking like a birds nest.
“Can you just go in the living room for a sec? I just want a word” I turn my attention back to Cheryl.
Cheryl scoffs sarcastically and stays put where she is folding her arms again protectively. “I’ve just came to apologise” Jason says sincerely. “I shouldn’t have kicked off the other day when you had the decency in you to try and sort thing out, its just i-“
“Sort things out?” Cheryl repeats looking at me in confusion. “You asked him in here? She asked you in here?” She keeps looking between the two of us and Jason pulls a face awkwardly and he steps backwards without a reply.
“No… I just … eh”
Luckily I’m cut off by Jason but Cheryl’s scowl is still present, her eyebrows are pulled together and she’s staring at me like she’s trying to read me like some sort of book. “Sorry I didn’t know it was a secret”
