The ringing from my phone abruptly wakes me up. I realise I’m still on the sofa dressed in last nights clothes under the duvet with Cheryl fast asleep leaning against my side with her head dropped on my shoulder. We must have fallen asleep watching the DVD last night, the suns now fighting through the curtains. I ignore the phone and rest my head on Cheryl’s closing my eyes again. Its rings once more and I sigh as I rummage for it under the duvet. It’s my mum calling me and its 10am. I totally forgot all about collecting Paisley from her.
“Hello”
“Kimberley, are you ok?”
“Yeah I’ve just woke up” I tell her my voice laced with sleep. “I totally forgot about Paisley, I’m getting up now I won’t be long”
“Its fine I was just worried that’s all”
“Is she ok?” I ask and I carefully wiggle my body from under Cheryl’s trying my best not to wake her.
“Of course she is, she’s been asking after you”
Cheryl groans and skims her hand over the empty space beside her before her eyes flick open. “Kimb-“
I quickly press my finger to my lips and hold the phone to my chest. “It’s my mum” I mouth to her pointing to the phone.
“Ok” She mouths back and I hold the phone back to my ear. “Sorry what were you saying?”
“Just that she’s been asking after you, she’s been asking for Sarah too and a girl named Nadine?”
“Oh yeah, she’s our friend she met her the other day” I sit in front of Cheryl on the sofa and she wraps both her arms around my waist resting her chin on my shoulder. “I’ll not be too long, I’ll get ready now”
“Ok love, did you have a good night?”
“I had an amazing night” I smile thinking back to how perfect it was. Cheryl kisses under my ear making me smile even more.
“I will be wanting all the details mind, I’ll tell Paisley you are on your way”
“We’ll see and thank you again for having her”
“It’s my pleasure see you soon”
“See you soon”
“Bye” She says and I hang up. I lean further into Cheryl and she kisses my cheek again.
“I thought she would never hang up” I roll my eyes and she tightens her arms around me.
“I wish you didn’t have to go” she whispers.
“Me too but I’ve missed my baby”
“Aww you’re so cute!” She squeezes me and nuzzles her face in my neck. “I can’t wait to see her”
“Don’t you have work today?”
“I do but I don’t want to go and Lils is on holiday so I don’t know what I’m going to do without her”
“Well you have to, I’ll see you tonight wont I?”
“I know but I want to spend every second with you” She says in the most adorable voice. “What are you going to get up to while I’m gone?”
“I might pop around to see Nic and Sarah I feel I haven’t been seeing them much lately and I’ll probably take Paisley to the park since it’s a nice day again. I was thinking about asking Nadine to come since too”
Cheryl grins at me and nods her head. “She will love that, I hope you have a nice day” She kisses my cheek one last time before getting off the sofa and pulling me up. “you better start getting ready”
