I knew saying goodbye wouldn’t be easy especially after Sarah accidently upsetting Paisley last night and she now strongly believes that once Cheryl’s on that plane she is never coming back, I can only imagine how she’s feeling right now as we’re stood in the airport getting ready to say our goodbyes. “What’s going to happen with your car?” I ask Cheryl and she takes my hand. She opens my palm and places the keys inside it.
“You’re going to take it, How else are you two and the car going to get home?”
“Chez, I’m not driving that!”
“You’ll be fine, just don’t damage it too much” She winks and taps my hand. Paisley has been crying ever since she saw the suitcase by the door this morning. I failed at getting her dressed due to her being extra clingy to Cheryl and even she wasn’t able to calm her down enough to change her from her pyjamas so here she is stood in the middle of the airport in pink princess pyjamas. She’s stifling sobs, her face is bright red and she’s still tugging on the bottom of Cheryl’s leather jacket. She gets picked up after only just being put down, seeing her like this is breaking Cheryl’s heart I can tell just by the look on her face.
“She will calm down when I get her home” I say rubbing her back, I say this now but I’m just hoping it’s true. My heads already banging from all the crying and screaming i have heard this morning, I don’t think it will take much more without it exploding.
“I’m going to phone you as soon as I land so put her on the phone to us, okay?”
“I will” Cheryl gives Paisley a last squeeze. She kisses her head several times before attempting to put her down. She’s having no such look, she’s hanging around her neck and every time her feet touch the floor she’s lifting her legs back up. “You’re going to see mammy very soon, can you behave like a big girl for me?” I crouch down and attempt to take her from Cheryl. I just about manage to pull her arms from around her neck but she quickly latches herself onto her legs. She want absolutely nothing to do with me today.
“Look Kim, maybe its best that I don’t go”
“You can’t do that, not to yourself or Rihanna… She will be fine, I promise but I won’t be until I get a hug” It’s like she collapses into my embrace as she wraps her arms around me. I hear her sniff, I knew it wouldn’t be long before Paisleys started her off too. I’m trying my best not to cry, its hard but I know this is easy compared to how it will be in January. I rub her back with one hand and with the other I hold it to her head so I can hold her close to me.
“We’re not going to say bye, okay?” She says pulling away and rubbing the tears from her face.
“What will we say then?”
“See you soon?”
“I’ll see you soon” I give her a sad smile and she again pulls me into another hug. This time it’s a armed one because she’s holding onto Paisley too. “I better get a kiss before you go”
She does a sad giggle and her lips kiss mine, It feels like we are kissing forever before finally pulling away when air became an issue. “I’ll call you as soon as I land”
“Don’t forget, I love you so much and have a great time!”
“I love you too, the both of you” She again crouches down to Paisley and kisses her one last time. “I better go before I miss me flight and I drown everyone with me tears”
“No!” Paisley screams and Cheryl cups her face in her hands.
“Mammy will be back very soon and I will talk to you tonight on the phone, I promise you! I love you very much!”
