SHAWN MENDES IMAGINES
→ hide & seek ←

I LOOK ALL AROUND THE HOUSE, TRYING TO FIND MT GIRLFRIEND OF A YEAR AND A HALF, AS WE WERE PLAYING A GAME OF HIDE & SEEK. Childish, am I right? Being twenty years old and still playing kid games would sound weird but it's fun being able to act like a kid with the one you love. It makes me feel like a reckless person in love.

"Baby girl! I give up." I shouted, stomping up the stairs playfully into our bedroom that was quiet. Way too quiet. "Honey? Are you in here? I give up. You win."

I looked in the closet, seeing nothing but our clothes in the dark. My eyebrows knitted together, my heart beating faster in my chest. After spending almost two hours looking for her, I made my way back up into the bedroom we shared. Disconnecting my phone from the charger, I dialed her number, letting it ring all the way to voicemail. I took a deep breathe, trying not to panic. Call after call, text after text, I received no answer back from her and that's when I began to grow scared.

It was now late at night and I still couldn't find her. I sat on the edge of the bed, my head pounding and my eyes burning from the tears I cried. I have no idea where she could be. Every time I called her, it went straight to voicemail and every time I texted her, she never replied back. I let myself cry to sleep, hugging her pillow close to my chest.

!Five months later!

"Thank you all for coming out tonight! I love you guys so much." I screamed into the microphone, running off the stage from my concert in Melbourne, Australia.

Making my way backstage, I felt a few drops of sweat slide down the sides of my face, my heart pounding from the adrenaline and excitement from being back on stage again. It felt good. A feeling I've always crave when I take a break from touring. But this time, it felt different. I felt more alive and free.

"What is one place you always want to travel to?" I ask, holding her in my arms as we laid under the stars.

She thought about it for a few moments before looking up at me, her cheek rubbing against my chest as she shifted her head. "I don't know. I've always wanted to go to Australia."

"Australia huh?" I ask and she nods with a smile on her face, closing her eyes.

"Yeah. Australia."

My eyes shot open as I jolted awake in my hotel room. It was three in the morning and I finally figured it out. All this time, I figured it out. Throwing on sweatpants, a shirt, and slipping on sneakers, I rushed out of my hotel room.

Running out of my hotel, I wandered the streets, keeping my eyes open. Everyone and everything around me froze once I caught a glimpse of her long, dark hair. Slowly I made my way up to her, placing my hand on her shoulder. She tensed and turned around, smiling as soon as she saw me standing right in front of her.

I dipped my head down to connect my lips with hers, capturing her in a long, slow passionate kiss. One of my hands rested on her lower back and the other was on the back of her head, keeping her close to me. Her arms wrapped around the back of my neck, tugging at the ends of my hair softly.

I pulled away yet I kept my forehead pressed against hers. She traced my bottom lip with her thumb, something she always seemed to do after we share an intense kiss.

"I finally found you."
