Enrico Jay Richards is a very successful divorce lawyer in the United States. Friends and family calls him Rix for short..

His father, Ariel Jay Richards is a well known stage actor in the US and his mother, Allison Richards is a Surgeon.

Rix has one sister, Martha Richards, who's base in Norway. When he wants to get away from all the hustle and bustle of city life in California, he would seek solace in his Sister's cottage in Norway...

Rix has been engaged twice already, but never really got married...the runaway Groom. He always gets cold feet and disappears in a few months.

He and Arman are the best buddies, as they both went to the same private school when he was still in the Philippines until his family moved to the US. They never lost touch. Rix is the one who introduces Arman to his cousin, Abby.

Speaking to Rix via cell phone...

Arman: Hey Rix, I'm here in LA, where are you?
Rix: Yeah, Abby mentioned, I'm in Hawaii, I'll be back in a couple of days?
A: You know I'm getting married, right? and you'll be my best man...it's time to return the favour
R: Is this for real? How about Abby?
A: I need to talk to you about this, I have yet to get an engagement ring for my Fiancée...
R: Hahaha, what? How did you manage to get the girl to say yes without an engagement ring?
A: It's an arranged marriage Rix... listen there's a lot of things I want to discuss with you about this marriage...I'll be in LA for another week, can we meet?
R: All right then...

Back in Manila, Carmaine went to see one of her good friend, Lara Ferrell, to help her look for a simple wedding dress to wear at her wedding...

Lara: Well, look at this dress, it's elegant and simple. What do you think?
Carmaine: I think that should work, not too loud..you know me, I like simple things...

Carmaine Dei picked this Bohemian Lacy sheath wedding dress with long off shoulder sleeves and would hope that her Mother will approve of it.

Lara: I like it, for sure Tita Alicia would love it...
Carmaine: I hope so too, knowing my mother, she's not into simple things, it always has to leave a mark palagi..
Lara: You look distracted, ok ka lang ba?
Carmaine: I don't know Lara, why did I even agreed to this marriage...
Lara: Well, nandyan na yan, just make sure you guard your heart...
Carmaine: Guard my heart?
Lara: You know, what if you fell for him?
C: I don't know about that...and plus it has to be mutual...
L: Don't be so sure, there are incidents na maiinlove yung girl sa boy, boy pursued the girl, then he proposes, then all of a sudden wedding was called off, may narinig na akong mga stories na ganyan..sad di ba?
C: First of all, Arman is not the type who will pursue a girl, he doesn't believe in courtship, and that's why I put it in my conditions cause he will never do it..I've heard stories like that, I remember a few years back, I got invited as a guest by a friend to a wedding, the groom didn't show up..  the girl got hysterical, she was devastated and embarrassed.
Lara: So what happened?
Carmaine: My friend and I left the church, that's it, no follow up stories.. it happens you know, remember Julia Roberts movie? "The Runaway Bride" but this time it's the groom who ran away..
L: That is something that you don't want to remember, where's Arman by the way?
C: Ireland, Arman has a girlfriend, ex na ngayon... he flew there to see her...
L: What? You allowed your Fiancé to see his ex? What kind of arrangement is this?
C: This marriage is on paper only..

Carmaine Dei just gave her friend a sweet smile, giving her hint that it doesn't bother her one bit...
