Odd Lollipop Out // VKook

"You wait here, okay?" The teacher instructed Jungkook, the dark haired boy nodding in obedience. With lips slightly parted, he took a deep breath to prepare himself for his introduction to his new class.

Considering he's gone to school with the same people since preschool, this was his first time in a while that he had to stand in front of a class full of new faces. He had to move half way through his junior year of high school due to multiple reasons.

It's only a couple months of the school year left. How bad could it be? The boy thought to himself with a huff, making his already chubby cheeks puff like soft pillows.

"Settle down." The teacher ordered and the class fell in a close to silent atmosphere if it weren't for the dirty blonde boy sitting near the very back corner of the class. The high schooler annoyingly popped a lollipop out of his mouth with a loud sucking sound only to place it back on his tongue. The teacher rolling his eyes, ignored the known-to-be trouble maker before continuing. "We have a new student and I'm kindly asking you all to help me welcome him into our class, is that too hard of a task?"

"No, sir." The whole class responded except for the blonde who replied with a smirk, using his tongue to push the lollipop to one side of his mouth. The teacher nodded regardless. "Good. You can come in now." He gestured to the door and not long after, a fluff of bouncing dark hair emerged from the doorway. The boy stuck his head inside the room, quickly scanning the atmosphere before walking in to stand next to the supervisor.

"Students, this is Jeon Jungkook. He's a junior and he recently moved here a couple days ago. As of today, he is a part of our class." Jungkook smiled, showing his full set of teeth that oddly resembled an innocent bunny's. It only made his expression look softer and more genuine which the blonde found intriguing.

The room erupted in soft murmurs from the students, quick to make judgements just based off of Jungkook's introduction, and the teacher took it as a cue to start the class. "Jungkook why don't you take the seat at the far corner over there. Next to Taehyung." He pointed at the blonde who waved, lollipop in hand, as a boxy grin made its way on his heart-shaped face.

Jungkook walked to the back, all eyes trailed on him until he was seated behind his desk. From there on, the teacher called out for all the students to focus their attention back to the board at front. Shifting uncomfortably, the boy leaned back on his seat when he heard two students continuing their conversation despite sitting in front of their topic of discussion.

"I bet he has the perfect family, did you see his smile? It looked overly exaggerated like he had no problems in the world. He's probably one of those spoiled brats." The student scoffed making the other one laugh. Jungkook didn't want to start any problems on his first day— or any day— so he shrugged it off and continued twiddling his thumbs under the desk.

Taehyung noticed the boy's uneasy expression, doe eyes slightly squinting whenever his peers said anything harsh. That's when the blonde decided to speak up. "Can you two speak any louder? The kid's literally behind you." He barked, the two boys immediately looking back at him in shock before shutting their mouths.

Kim Taehyung wasn't one to usually befriend someone, more or less defend someone he didn't know.

He gestured for them to turn to the front with a mocking smile, the two boys doing as they were told without a complaint.

He turned back to look at Jungkook who was also in a bit of a shock from the sudden help. The younger smiled before slightly bowing in his seat to thank the older for his help before looking back at the teacher.

Taehyung did the same, a smirk now semipermanently plastered on his face.

Class couldn't have gone any slower for Jungkook's first day. Each minute passing seemed like five, his interest in the class slowly slipping. He had his arms propping his head up, squishing his cheeks which Taehyung found adorable.

The bell finally rang, everyone's cue that it was time to head to their next classes. Most students had already rushed out of the room but Jungkook was still putting his belongings in his bag before slipping his arms through the straps. He was so focused on packing that he didn't notice the blonde staying behind.

He looked at Taehyung, a bit confused, until the older reached in his bag to pull out a piece of candy. He handed the lollipop to Jungkook which made the younger question him. "Thanks?" He laughed, accepting the offer which took Taehyung by surprise.

His laugh sounded so angelic. It made the older's cheeks turn a light shade of pink but he shrugged it off, hoping the bunny boy didn't notice.

"Kim Taehyung. My name's Taehyung if you didn't already catch that." He introduced himself, holding a hand out which Jungkook gladly took. "Jeon Jungkook. I'm Jungkook if you didn't already catch that." He smirked, unwrapping the orange flavored lollipop the boy gave him, letting it sit in his mouth and shoving the wrapper in his pocket.

"Do you wanna sit with my friends and I during lunch? They're nice, I promise." Tae raised his hand to his heart which Jungkook oddly found cute. "Sure."

They started walking out of the classroom to head to their next one, Taehyung gladly offering to be his guide.

"So what class do you have next?" The older asked, Jungkook looking down at his hands where he held his class schedule for the rest of the year.

"Choir." The younger responded, Taehyung's eyes light up at the mention of the elective. "That's my next class too!" He acclaimed a little too enthusiastically, quickly clearing his throat.

"So you sing?" The older questioned, taking a new interest in his peer who only shrugged. "I guess. You?" Taehyung nodded frantically. Though it didn't seem to fit his first impression of him from an hour ago, the other's quirkiness made Jungkook smile.

Maybe today wasn't going to be as bad as he thought.
