2 Years Later
"Yes, I know mom. I stopped sleeping with my hair wet years ago." Jungkook rolled his eyes, stuffing textbooks into his book bag while his shoulder kept his phone next to his ear. He mentally groaned when his mother continued to babble on about her concerns.
This was the first time she's ever had her baby away after all.
"Mom. I'll call you later. I'm gonna be late for class if you keep scolding me about nonsense." He told her, hearing a scoff from the other end.
"Fine, fine. Go on now. I love you." She said through the phone.
"I love you too." He smiled, although she couldn't see it, before ending the call.
He lied. Class didn't start for another hour or so but Jungkook had enough of his mother's chattering just to keep him on the phone.
"Kookie!" Jimin called out of nowhere, jumping onto the younger's back. It was a good thing the bunny boy quickly caught his balance before they would've both toppled to the floor.
"Jimin, what the hell?" The now red headed freshman complained, throwing his hyung on the bed next to him.
"Sorry, I'm just so happy!" The still pink haired boy bounced from where he was now seated on the edge of the bed. "Can you believe it? We always talked about going to a university together and being roommates! And after a year, you've finally joined me here in Seoul!"
Jungkook had to admit, he was feeling giddy about it too. Jimin and him graduated high school about a year ago but Jungkook didn't have enough money for tuition yet so he insisted for the older to start uni before him while he found a job. He didn't want to burden his best friend by making him stay a whole year to wait for the bunny boy to earn enough money.
But once the younger did, he didn't hesitate to enroll for the next classes. It was a good thing Jin-Hyung had forced them into taking English classes which was a huge help. This was Jimin's second year and Jungkook's first in Seoul National University. The younger moved in a couple days ago and had spent his time unpacking and rearranging the dorm so that it'd be suitable for the both of them.
"Oh my God!" The shorter hopped off of the bed with widened eyes, walking over to the confused male. "Is that-" He took a hold of the rabbit pendant hanging loosely from a golden chain necklace around the younger's neck.
Jungkook, finally realizing what the other was talking about, quickly hid the pendant under his shirt, rubbing the back of his neck in embarrassment.
"It is! You're still wearing the necklace he gave you for Christmas." Jimin stated softly, looking up at the boy in pity.
"U-um, it's- it's a nice accessory." The red head mumbled, face matching the color of his dyed hair.
After just a couple months through Jungkook's senior year in high school, his boyfriend had slowly became distant. The boy couldn't blame him, everyone knew that the first year of college was always the most stressful which is why it wasn't a surprise when Taehyung unintentionally buried himself in assignments and projects. Sometimes days would pass until Jungkook would receive a message or call from the other. Needless to say, Taehyung's promise was long gone.
Eventually, they had a mutual agreement to take a break. It was clear that things between them weren't working out when their studies were in the way. Ever since they broke up, they haven't contacted each other nor seen one another in person. It's been more than a year and a half.
"Kookie, you know that you'll eventually run into him, right? You go to the same school again and share the same friends." Jimin reminded him as he checked himself through the mirror on the wall.
