Jungkook woke up with a bubbly feeling in his stomach when he saw a certain blonde, sound asleep, not even a foot a way from him.
He didn't wake up like those cliché book scenes where his head rested on the older's shoulder and enjoying inhaling the other's scent. No, he woke up feeling cold because his mom still refused to turn on the heater for money saving purposes. Jaegeun's leg was sprawled out on top of his waist, providing the raven head small warmth, while his head and right arm crushed Taehyung's stomach.
Nonetheless, he was feeling giddy.
Just the thought of his lips connecting with Tae's made him heat up.
He was relieved that he didn't do anything reckless like the last time he went to one of his high school parties. One of the worst decisions he'd ever made.
"Stop staring, kid." Taehyung groaned as he stirred his body to face the other direction, making little Jaegeun's head and arm fall back on the mattress. The little one scowled in disapproval while readjusting himself on Jungkook's stomach who was blushing profoundly from getting caught.
"I wasn't staring." He protested and the older turned his upper body slightly to squint one eye open at the flustered bunny boy. "Mhm, sure you weren't."
"Whatever." The boy scoffed, carefully shimmying himself off of the bed so he wouldn't hurt the little boy or disturb his sleep again. But regardless, Jaegeun whined, readjusting himself again on Tae's back. "I'll check if my mom made breakfast."
Earning a quiet hum, he walked out to the living room and could already smell the mouthwatering scent of fresh pancakes. Walking in the kitchen, the sight of his mom balancing a pitcher of orange juice, a spatula, and a stack of pancakes greeted him as she placed the plate and orange juice on the dining table. A sad smile made its way on Jungkook's face when he remembered what Taehyung told him last night.
At least your mom tries showing her love unlike mine.
He'd have to question the older about that last part later but at that moment, he saw what he meant by that sentence.
"Morning mom." He shyly greeted her and she quickly turned her head to his direction, shocked that he was talking to her normally. "Oh, hey sweetheart. Breakfast is ready. I made extra stacks for your friend and his little brother."
"Thanks" The raven haired boy nodded, not knowing how to continue conversation. "Um, hey mom?"
"Yes?"
"I'm sorry." Those two words stung him because he wouldn't have had to say them if he never acted cold.
The lady placed the spatula on the counter with a sigh and slipped off her apron before spreading her arms as a welcoming invite for a hug. Jungkook, without hesitation, ran into his mother's arms, already sobbing from the long-missed warmth of her. "Mom, I-I'm so sorry! I-I hate myself please forgive me! Everything's my fault!"
"Honey, you don't need to apologize!" She assured with damp cheeks and a smile. "Don't blame yourself for anything. None of what happened is your fault!"
"H-he beat you almost everyday while I was oblivious and blind. I should've noticed something was happening! Then he found out t-that... that I was gay and he finally showed his true self by hitting both of us." He said the 'gay' part a little quieter because he was well aware that Taehyung was still in the house.
"I was mad at you for not leaving him sooner." He admitted before continuing. "But then I quickly realized that I was just being stupid and then guilt started eating me up. All your marriages failed because of my sexuality. They failed because of me. I'm so sorry!"
"Jungkook, don't every say that!" The lady scolded with pity in her eyes. "I left those men because they're homophobic pieces of shits and they didn't deserve to be a part of our lives any longer. Don't ever apologize for your sexuality because it's no where near your fault nor is it a bad thing to be gay." The raven head sobbed a little louder, cries muffled by his mom's tear soaked sweater while she planted a kiss on his hair.
"I love you, mom." He blurted out with full sincerity and the woman only hugged her even tighter. "I love you too, honey."
"Do you boys have any plans for today?" Jungkook's mom asked while cutting a piece of her breakfast.
"No, not really." Jungkook shrugged while watching Taehyung feed Jaegeun a piece of his pancake. The little boy squealed in delight as he munched in a 'nom nom' manner, stuffed yellow bunny still hugged tightly to his side.
"I was thinking maybe we could go-"
Taehyung was abruptly interrupted by the sound of a phone ringing, making him look down at his phone on his lap. Oh shit, it's Jin-Hyung.
"Excuse me, I gotta take this." He walked in the living room, hesitantly answering his phone and holding it up to his face. "Heeeeeey, Hyung!"
"KIM TAEHYUNG WHERE ARE YOU AND WHY DID YOU BRING OUR LITTLE BROTHER?!" Jin screamed through the video call, the blonde having to back the phone away from his face to prevent hearing damage. "IF YOU DON'T COME HOME THIS INSTANT I'M GONNA-"
"Hey, Taehyung-ah." Namjoon casually greeted after pulling the phone away from the red pissed off Jin.
"NAMJOON GIVE IT BA-"
"If you don't calm down, you'll get a punishment later." The silver haired man whispered to the older although Taehyung heard it clearly and rolled his eyes. Jin kept his mouth shut after, now red from embarrassment rather than rage.
"Anyways... where you at, kid?" The tallest questioned his boyfriend's little brother and the blonde sighed knowing Namjoon is more laid back than Jin when it came to these things.
"I'm at my friend's house. I stayed the night over with Geun since it was already late." Taehyung explained sheepishly and Namjoon nodded. "Well I'm glad you're safe but please, next time inform the maids if you're going out."
"Will do, Hyung." The male smiled.
"By the way, we're home so it'd be nice if you come home early since we got back earlier than we intended to from the business trip to the BigHit headquarters-"
"Taehyung?" Jungkook suddenly called out, startling the boy and instinctively ending the call in a panic.
Shit, I hope he didn't hear that. The blonde thought to himself before casually clearing his throat. "Yeah?"
"Oh sorry, I just needed to ask a question. You didn't need to end the call."
"No, it's fine. My brother just needed to check where I was."
"Oh, okay."
"So what you need, kid?"
"Your birthday's in a week, are we doing anything for it?" The younger beamed with his bunny smile.
"I don't know. I'd have to ask my brother."
