Hoseok's POV (3rd person)
The redhead was slightly irritated that Taehyung left without letting him speak but at the same time he knew he couldn't blame him because it was time to go to class. Nonetheless he's annoyed that he let Tae talk to him about his problems while he's still struggling to deal with his on his own.
Hoseok had been wanting for the perfect time to tell someone, to open up about his problems for the past week. From the Yoongi situation to family issues. He didn't hang out in the cafeteria with the group because he didn't want to be questioned of his sudden change of mood lately.
Life just hadn't been the kindest to him.
It's now the last class of the day and the redhead sat on his assigned seat in the corner of the room while the youngest of his friend group sat next to him with a gloomy aura.
"You alright, Jungkook?" Hoseok asked in concern, ruffling the boy's hair to help relieve some of the evident distressed look on his face.
History class wasn't usually a hard class especially when there's a substitute teacher. It's basically a free period which gave the two what felt like all the time in the world to sulk over their own problems.
"I'm fine, Hyung," the junior responded, voice muffled by the desk as his arms cradled his own head.
"I wouldn't have asked if you looked like you were," Hoseok retorted with an eye roll although the younger couldn't see since he was being sat up when the senior's hands hoisted him from his shoulders. "It's Taehyung isn't it?"
The raven haired bunny hesitated before nodding his head. "I don't know what I did! What did I do during the party? Did he tell you anything? I'm lost and no one's giving me answers." He frustratedly tugged at his soft strands before letting his head fall on the older's shoulder.
"First of all, you need to take a breath," the redhead advised the younger who gladly took it. "Second, no he didn't tell me anything."
Hoseok was lying because he knew Taehyung wouldn't want him to tell Jungkook nor did the eldest want to get blamed for if things go wrong. He wanted the blonde to talk to the youngest himself.
"And last," he continued. "Just talk to him. I know you're scared to but trust me you'll get your answers if you go directly to the main source."
"I am scared, Hyung." Jungkook confirmed, burying his face in the crook of Hoseok's neck. The older could only play with his hair to help ease his nerves. "I'm scared that my friendship with Taehyung is ruined over a reason that I don't know."
"Like I said, talk to him," the redhead repeated. "He won't be able to resist you for long, I've never seen the kid be so carelessly happy around someone besides his brothers."
The bunny boy looked his hyung in the eyes, searching for any sign of insincerity but to no avail, he found none. Sighing in defeat, he nodded.
"I think I'll talk to him right after school." The younger finally gave in and Hoseok flashed him a halfhearted smile.
"Anyways, um... Can I talk to you about something?" The redhead asked, fidgeting in his seat. "Sure, Hyung." Jungkook kept his gaze at the clock, waiting for the signal to end the day.
"Okay so I've been having these problems and I've been wanting to tell someone but I couldn't so I'm telling you right now. Jungkook my-"
The bell rang, cutting off Hoseok.
Jungkook quickly stood up from his seat, belongings already packed in his bag as he slipped it around his shoulders. "I gotta go, Hyung! I'll talk to you later!"
"Wait! But-" The raven head gave him a quick hug before bolting out of the room and Hoseok's eyes visibly drooped from being let down for the second time in just a matter of hours. "Good luck I guess."
It's been an hour since the school day ended, Hoseok decided to stay in the park the whole time, not wanting to go home and face his problems.
He hated having no one to go to. Usually he'd have Yoongi who'd let him rant about all his issues and random thoughts. But clearly the mint head was not an option at this moment.
The male sat on a bench, hands griping the wooden seat so his arms pushed his shoulders up, letting them hug his head. He swung his legs back and forth, accidentally kicking a pebble, making it launch forward. He expected the small rock to land on the grass a couple meters away that made a small barrier around the cement but a shoe unexpectedly blocked the way, catching the redhead off guard.
He looked up, ready to give a small apology to a stranger but was taken by surprise to see no other that the pink haired mochi.
Jimin.
"Hoseok-Hyung?"
"Hey Jimin." Hoseok gave the younger a forced smile before looking back down at his lap, wishing that the male would just leave it at that.
But Jimin being Jimin, walked towards the older and plopped himself right next to him. They sat in silence for a while, not really knowing what to talk about until Hoseok sensed the pink haired boy's disquiet fidgeting. "Jimin-ah, you alright?"
"I- um...Hyung-uh..."
"Spit it out, kid."
"Hyung do you hate me?"
