Chapter 21 Haley’s POV

I felt the cold air hit my face as I swung back and forth.  I got higher and higher.  Adrenalin rushed threw me.

“Hal!”  I heard.

I jumped off of the swing.

I heard someone gasp.

“Sar, I’m fine.”

“Then why did you run off and not tell anyone?”

“Cause I was sick and tired of everyone saying things about Tyler and my unresisting relationship.”

“We tease you because we love you.”

“But sometimes you take it too far.”

We were sitting on the swings.

“I really like Tyler, but sometimes I feel like this is standing in the way.”  I said.

With the tip of my shoe I started playing with the sand.

“You do realize you just wrote Tyler with a heart next to it right?”  Sarah asked.

“Oh.”  I brushed my foot over what I had just wrote.

“Why don’t you admit that you love him?”  Sarah asked, turning to face me.

I looked down and sighed.  “I don’t want to be in love.  If I love him, he will break me.”

“Haley, we can’t choose who we love.  We can try but it will not make a difference.  Tyler won’t hurt you.  Not on purpose anyway.  You have to trust him.  That’s what a relationship is about trust and love.  Give him a chance.”

“First he has to ask me out.”  I teased.

“Oh I will make sure he asks you out.” 

“Sarah,” I started.

“Yeah?”

“Don’t medal.  It’s not a good habit.”

She playfully slapped my arm.

There was a honk.  I turned around and saw Claire the White Dragon.

“Are you almost done?”  Zach yelled.

“Almost.” I yelled back.

“But if he asks you out say yes.”

“Only if you and Dan go out on a real date soon.  No double dates.”

We got up and started walking to the van.

“What were you thinking about while here?”  Sarah asked.

“Just life and how much it has changed since the beginning of summer.”

“Race me?”  Sarah asked.

“You’re on.”

“Three.”  Sarah started.

“Two.”  I continued.

“One.”  We said at the same time.

“No fair you cheated!”  I yelled.

“You’re a head of me stop complaining.”

The van door opened and Tyler came out.  He held his arms open and I ran into them.

“Awww.”  I pretty sure all the girls said.

“Ewww.”  Zach and Brent said.

“Get it Wilson.”  Danny commented.

“Shut up Dan.”  Cameron said.

“It’s dark out.”  I said.

“Wow.  Of all things you notice that.”  Guppie teased.

“Guys leave them alone.”  Sarah said, getting in the van.

The doors slammed shut.

“I guess we are alone.”  Tyler said.

“You do know they are all watching from the windows right?”

“Yeah I know that.”

“Let’s mess with them.”

“How?”

I told Tyler my plan.

I wrapped my arms around his neck.  He pulled me close to him and picked me up.  I wrapped my legs around his waist.

“Almost ready?”  Tyler asked.

“Soon.” I said.

I knew everyone was watching.  I could see Zach and Tori threw the front window.

“Now.”  I said. 

I stuck my tongue out at the others. Tyler then helped me down.

“Good job.”  I said tapping his butt, making sure they all saw that.

I grabbed the handle and pulled on it.  It wouldn’t move.

“Open the door.”

“I’m trying.”

I pulled harder this time and still nothing.

“Let me help.”

He put his hands over mine and we pulled together.

Tyler pulled out his phone.

‘It’s locked.  Haha love you’

“They are so dead.”  I said.

I banged my hand on the window.

I could hear them laughing.

“This isn’t funny!”  I yelled.

“Maybe not for you.  But it is for us!”  Autumn yelled.

“Shut up Guppie!”

“Don’t yell at my Autumn.”

“Dirty Britt you can shut up to.”

“Haley, yelling at them won’t get them to open the doors.”  Tyler said.

I heard a click and quickly pulled the handle.

“Thanks Kellie.”  I said getting in and going to the back.

“You are so lucky someone hear cares about you.”  Sarah teased.

“Oh if you didn’t all love me you wouldn’t be here.”

“I guess.”  Sarah said.

Tyler grabbed my hand and slid something into it.  I looked down to see my phone with a new message.

‘That tap wasn’t part of the plan.’
