Chapter 47 Chris’ POV
We wound up aging to some local restaurant.
I sat next to Autumn and Danny. Next to Danny was Sarah, across from Sarah was Tyler, next to Tyler was Haley, across from me was Emily and next to her was Dillon.
“Nothing expensive.” Dillon said.
“You have a job. You can pay.” Haley commented.
“But I don’t!” Autumn said.
“I’ll help you.” I said, wrapping my arm around her waist.
She lightly pushed me.
“No helping.” Emily said.
Autumn placed her arms across her chest and huffed.
“I’ll still help anyway.” I whispered.
Dinner went by quickly. There was no awkward moment. Okay there were. These girls loved to tease each other.
“Carry me.” Autumn said.
“No.” I laughed.
“But I’m tired.”
We were already a block behind everyone else.
“Fine.” I said, giving in.
She jumped on my back. “Thank you.”
“Anything for you Love.”
She giggled.
“I want to take you somewhere.” I said.
“Well you are leading me.”
I laughed.
“I guess I am.”
I carried her back to Haley’s house.
“Down.”
“No.” she pouted.
“Please.” I begged.
“But Chris.”
“But Autumn.”
She jumped down.
“That’s my girl.”
She glared at me.
“Awe come here.”
I grabbed her hands and pulled her close to me.
“I’m here.”
“I know.”
“Hold me. It’s dark out.”
“I am holding you Autumn.”
She pushed me up against the wall.
“What are you doing?” I asked her.
“Nothing.”
I sat down and pulled her down.
“Why am I always sitting on top of you?”
“I don’t know, but I like it.”
I wrapped my arms around her waist.
“Look at the stars.” I said.
“I don’t see stars like this back home.” Autumn said.
“Neither do I.”
“Hal and Em are lucky.”
“I think I’m the lucky one.”
Even in the dark I could see her blush.
“I mean they get to see the stars.”
“And I get to see you.”
“Well I get to see you.”
“That’s kind of how things works. I see you and you see me.”
She lightly slapped my arm.
I slid her so that her back was no longer facing my chest, but her side was facing me.
“Have I told you lately that I love you?” I asked.
“Yes, but I could never hear it enough.”
“Autumn Kimble, I love you, so much.”
”I love you to Chris Bourne.”
I felt my phone vibrate.
I pulled it out of my pocked and flipped it open.
I’d love to see you in the dark ;)
I moved the phone slightly so that Autumn wouldn’t see it. What was this message? I’m sure it wasn’t supposed to be sent to me. But what if it was? Then what am I going to do?
