"Yes mom, I'm safe. My flight landed about an hour ago. Colby is at a radio show right now, I haven't seen him yet. Yes, I'll tell you how the date goes. Okay, I love you too. Bye." Brielle said as she hung up the phone. Her mom kept calling her to make sure everything was okay. That was the third call in that hour. The other two calls were when she was on the plane.
Brielle unpacked her suitcase and hung up some of her clothes. She put some in the drawers that Colby didn't occupy and set down her makeup and hair products in the bathroom.
Colby had gotten to New York two days before her since he came with work and had some interviews to do. He had texted her before she got on the plane saying how he would be back soon after she got to the hotel.
The door swung open and Colby stood in the doorway with his arms held wide up, waiting for a hug. Brielle shook her head and laughed and she walked up to him a gave him a big hug.
"Not gonna lie, I was expecting you to run up to me and jump in my arms, but I'll take this." He said, making her laugh more as they both released from the hug.
"I'm jet lagged, don't be mad." She said as she poked his cheek. They walked into the room again and she laid down on the bed while he set down his things. "How were your interviews?"
"Good. Just long." He groaned while plopping down next to her on the bed.
"Do you have anything else scheduled for today?" She asked him as she sat up.
"Nope. I requested to only have three today since I wanted to do some things with you, since I know we won't have time tomorrow and for the rest of the time that we are here." He explained.
"You didn't have to do that, you know."
"But I wanted to. Besides, that date is tonight and I made us reservations for eight, so be ready."
"You're too much." She smiled.
"Hey, I want to impressive you. Maybe if you like this enough, you'll go on a second date with me." He smirked.
"Hmmm. I don't know about that. You will really have to wow me tonight then, Mr. Lopez." Brielle laughed when in reality, all she wanted was to be his.
The past four months were like a nightmare, but somehow, they were also like a dream. Although she lost her best friend and fiancé, she found someone that she really likes. She just prayed that everything would be okay between the two of them.
