"Hgn," Ash muttered, a warm presence pressed against her. The cold of the ship nipped at her skin through her shirt, causing her to press herself further against the presence. A once loose, and undetectable grip around her torso tightened, as she felt her cause of warmth shift in position.
Ash, knowing it was Keith, was too comfortable and warm to care, so she gripped onto his shirt and buried her face against his chest, letting out a satisfied sigh. Keith again tightened his grip, resting his chin on top of Ash's head.
Fully conscious, but not wanting to admit it, Ash stayed quiet and enjoyed the warmth. She felt Keith tense up, as she finally fluttered her eyes open and looked down, she noticed her legs were tangled with his. Again not caring, nor processing the situation, simply enjoyed her braided cuddle.
"Comfortable?" she heard Keith chuckle in his raspy morning voice.
"Mhm," was Ash's only response, cuddling closer, if it was possible. Keith let out a sigh as he clung to Ash. What Ash didn't know, is the heat had come back in the middle of the night, and Allura had told everyone to go back to their own rooms.
Keith had looked down at Ash, cuddled onto his chest. Not wanting to wake her from the only decent sleep she had had in a few days, and not having access to her room since she moved out of the hospital wing, had brought her to his room, and stayed with her.
"Keith?" Ash finally said, her voice breaking due to the dry air in the room. She opened her eyes, her eyelashes gently grazing Keith's neck, making him shiver slightly.
"Yeah?" he finally responded. Ash pulled her face away slightly to look into Keith's eyes.
"This isn't the pull-out in the lounge, is it?" she said grinning. Keith avoided eye contact as he gulped. Ash chuckled.
"You sly dog," she teased, sticking her tongue out at Keith and placing her index finger on his nose. A smile crept onto his face.
"Ha, you wish, now hush, I'm still tired," Keith said, burying his face back into the crook of Ash's neck. Ash felt comfortable joking with Keith, and cuddling with him, teasing him, simply because she knew he wasn't the guy to go and make a big deal about it. His mindset was; it happened. And that's that.
Ash shifted her position slightly, the cold continuing to nip at her skin through her thin t-shirt. Keith gripped the blanket and tucked his hand over Ash's side, the blanket tightly pressed against her skin, Keith trying to make the cold go away. Her slight trembles seized as she let out a sigh, the goosebumps on her skin slowly disappearing. Ash gripped the blanket on Keith's side and brought her hands up to his neck.
The blanket was suddenly snatched from both of their hands, causing them both to shoot upwards, the small blush creeping onto both of their pale faces inescapable.
"COLD!" Ash squeaked, the absence of Keith and the blanket causing her to shiver again. She crawled over to Keith and buried her face into his chest. Keith grabbed the blanket and wrapped her in it.
Keith glared at the person who had pulled off their blanket. Lance returned the death stare. Keith looked worriedly at Ash, wondering why she was so cold.
"Wait here," Keith whispered, giving the blanket one last tug to make sure it kept her warm. Ash nodded and looked down, grasping the blanket around her. Keith grabbed Lance by the ear and dragged him out of the room.
"How the hell did you get in my room?" Keith demanded through gritted teeth, glaring at Lance, his violet eyes full of hatred.
"Allura gave me access, she was worried because both you and Ash weren't responding, and after I saw Ash wasn't there, I knew she was with you!" Lance shouted accusingly, pointing his index finger at Keith. Keith let out a scoff of disgust.
"You made a move!" Lance shouted again. Keith's violet eyes swam, until he finally scrunched them closed.
"Made a move? Are you kidding me?" Keith said, punching the wall next to Lance's face. "I don't 'make moves' as you so kindly put it. She only lets me do the things I do because she knows I won't make a big deal about it. Ash is everything to me, the only one I had after getting thrown out of Garrison. She was hurt so badly while she was there, the last thing I need to see is her getting her hopes up that someone likes her, and then that person turns out to be a frickin' playboy-" Keith cut himself off, panting heavily, rage building up inside him. He looked at Lance, his eyes still narrowed.
"K-keith?" came the squeak from behind him. He whipped around, Ash's short frame standing in the doorway, the blanket around her shoulders loosely, her thin, baggy t-shirt falling off of her shoulders, her thin, black tank-top straps snug against her neck.
She waddled over to them, and tugged on their arms, gazing up at them sadly.
"Don't fight," she said, pulling them both into a hug. Lance and Keith gave one last glare to each other, before wrapping their arms around her sighing.
"I'm gonna go get ready, Keith, I'm stealing your blanket," she said, breaking the embrace. She began slouching down the hall, still tired. Ash changed her mind halfway through, and trudged back down the hall towards Keith and Lance. She grabbed Keith's shirt and dragged him back into the room
"I'm still tired," she mumbled, the door closing behind her. Lance stood there, dumbfounded. He gave the door one last glare, and turned away.

"On your left!" Came Shiro's voice from beside Ash. Ash whipped to her left, a gladiator about to attack. She blocked it with her shield, and kept her back pressed to Shiro's. They were all in the midst of team bonding activities. Lance and Keith argued the entire time, and Pidge and Hunk weren't paying attention, leaving only Ash and Shiro.
"Shiro, look out!" Ash cried as a Gladiator was about to bring it's sword down on Shiro. Shiro blocked it last-minute with his blue-screened shield. Ash smiled to herself. Shiro and Ash continued to dodge past the Gladiators, seemingly enjoying the challenge. The rest of the crew watched from the spectator's box.
"Gah!" Ash cried out as she lost her footing, falling forward, smacking her cheek on the hard tiling. A gladiator ran over, and raised it's sword. As it was about to come down, Shiro stepped in front and blocked the blow with his shield.
Keith watched Ash use the sleeve of her shirt to wipe away the blood trickling from the side of her mouth, trying to make sure nobody noticed. But the large bruise on her cheek was too noticeable.
She must've cut her mouth on her braces, Keith thought, sighing. He turned to Allura.
"Turn off the sequence, Ash is hurt." He commanded. Allura hesitantly turned it off. Shiro's shield disappeared, as well as the gladiator. He held out his robotic hand to help Ash up, and she gratefully took it.
Shiro turned to see Keith entering the arena. Shiro messed up Ash's white hair before leaving, giving a teasing solute on the way out, making Ash scoff as she attempted to reign back in her wild hair.
"Let me see your stitches," Keith commanded once he reached Ash. Before getting kicked out of Garrison, Ash had to have an operation on one of her top canine teeth. The tooth had never grown in, and once they took an x-ray they noticed it was growing in sideways. They had to make an incision and attach a bracket and golden chain on it, and hook it to one of the brackets on her neighboring teeth, the reason she needed her braces in the first place. Keith had been keeping an eye on them for her.
Ash hesitantly looked up, and opened her mouth. Keith peered at the blank spot where her tooth should be, seeing the three stitches.
"Everything seems fine, you probably just cut your lip on your braces," he confirmed, leading Ash out of the arena and down to the hospital wing.
