Ash sat up breathlessly, panting heavily. She looked around, only to see the inside of the black lion surrounding her. She sucked in a breath of relief, and noticed Keith sitting nearby.
"Did... did you see that too?" she whispered, unsure. Ash sighed in relief as Keith turned to her and gave her a sad nod. Ash noticed Shiro lying against the wall, his breathing slow and soft. She stood up and sat next to Keith, her gaze holding nothing but confusion.
"The kiss...?" Keith muttered, not taking his eyes off of the galaxy in front of him. Ash sighed and leaned back into the chair.
"I don't know. I thought I was going to die, Keith," she muttered, frustrated. She brought her hands to her face and rubbed just underneath her eyes, signalling she was tired. The bandages had all but disappeared from her face, her wound showing signs of dried, light blue blood around it.
"It's fine. We don't have to talk about it," he sighed.

Keith was able to signal the castle, Allura and Lance popping up on screen in front of him. Ash watched the screen intently, although Lance and Allura could not see her off to the side.
"Hailing the castle of lions! This is Keith," he said. Lance's face turned bright.
"Keith! You're okay," he sighed relieved. The three began conversing about Shiro, yet Ash felt hurt that they didn't bother to ask if she was okay, or even if she was with Keith. Keith had increased the speed of the lion, having warning the two that Lotor was on his way.

"Allura! Don't!" Came Lance's voice. Ash had convinced Keith to let her out on her craft, knowing it's speed was twice that of his lion. Due to her injured state, Keith had reluctantly agreed. She had witnessed as Lotor pleaded with Allura for forgiveness, and prosperity. But when she finally denied him, his crew had begun open fire on them all. Allura had rushed forward, Lotor dodging his ship out of the way narrowly.
Lasers and beams had begun flying around everywhere, causing more damage to the already partially destroyed planet where the quintessence gate used to be held.
"Koran! Tell me you've got the castle running," came Hunk's voice. Ash ignored his response, trying to keep focused on dodging lasers. She aimed the gun on the front of the small craft at one of the enemy ships, but to her dismay they easily dodged the blow.
Eventually, the castle of lions joined the fight, giving the paladins and Ash a few seconds of breathing time.
Their break didn't last long. Koran had admitted that only one engine was working, so it was almost like learning to fly all over again. The five teens shot themselves back into battle, the shower of lasers beginning all over again.
Ash watched in horror as Lotor's ship continued to over power them, even if it was three-to-one. Ash continued to try and hit any of the ships, but failed, their reaction time being too quick.
The battle stopped as Lotor's ship came together, his generals unknowingly by the paladins having been tossed out of their ships. His ships began forming his own Voltron, a bigger, more powerful version.
Ash and the paladins struggled to avoid his blows. The robot was much faster than Voltron, much more surprising due to it's size. The grey, blue, and orange machine continued to chase the lions, until Ash felt like she couldn't take it anymore. Her cuts and burns sent pain throughout her body, and her hands felt like they were on fire the quick ways she was having to use the controls.
Ash sighed in relief as Koran was able to gain control of the castle, and fired the laser at Lotor. His ship halted, absorbing the layer. But everyone watched in shock as his own purple laser began to push back, reducing the castle's laser to zero.
"Oh god," Ash whispered as the laser finally hit the castle. She watched with wide eyes as Lotor focused his laser on Allura, getting ready to fire again. Allura didn't notice, having been concerned about Koran.
"ALLURA!" She screamed, sending her craft into top speed. Ash was not a fan of Allura, but she was key to the rest of the crew. Her force barely pushed her out of the way, but Ash wasn't fast enough to avoid the laser. It hit her at full force, and having no lion to cover for her, Ash felt darkness consume her as she floated off of her craft.
Lance noticed immediately as he sped his lion over to her, it consuming her in one of it's hatches. He leaped out of his seat and ran over to her, her skin hot. He cradled her, tears running down his face.
"I should've never said that... I'm so sorry Ash.. come back to me, please," he begged, choking on his words. Ash didn't stir. He shook his head in disbelief, gazing down at the pale girl, the cut that ran under her eye to across her nose shining in the dim light.
He heard the door open and looked up to see Allura. His eyes narrowed as he hugged Ash closer to his body.
"Lance.. I can help," she offered taking a step closer. Lance hugged her body closer, no heartbeat coming from her, or pulse.
"She talked for so long about dying..." he whispered, his voice barely audible. "I miss her already.." Allura took a few more steps forward and crouched in front of him.
''I can help-"
"SHE'S DEAD, ALLURA!" He suddenly lashed, tears rolling down his face. "YOU CAN'T HELP A DEAD PERSON!" Lance buried his face into Ash's side, his tears staining her armor. He heard Allura exit, and everyone was too tired to care about Lotor's readying laser.
