Hospital waiting rooms are the worst, I don't know if it's the smell, the fact you're surrounded by death or that it reminds me of what I done.

The Accident, Clay. I nearly died with the thought he was hurt, the image of being alone.

"Hey, here's your drink."

"Thanks Clay."

You'll be pleased to know Helmet is alive and well. It's true though, there had been an accident, two people we both know well.

Jess, Alex...

"Hannah, Alex looks bad. What even happened?"

The truth is no one really knew, there are only two people that do... Alex and Jess.

"I don't know, hopefully Jess can remember something."

The nurse called us in, Jess had asked to see us. Walking to her room I was nervous, I didn't know what to expect.

I reached out and held Clays hand, I held it so tight. He looked at me as if to say everything's ok.

After everything that me and Jess had been through, it was horrible seeing her like this. Her leg in a cast, covered in bandages, hooked up to machines.

"Hey, Hannah... Clay"

Her voice was croaky and faint, she looked so weak.

"Hey Jess, I can't believe this... how are you feeling?"

"I've had better days, how is Alex doing?"

Clay and I looked at each other, both knowing he was in a bad condition.

"He's holding up... we haven't heard anything else yet.."

Clay always has a way of explaining things, he was so thoughtful.

"Clay, you should be a Doctor with that answer."

I smiled slightly when Jess said that. Doctor Jensen, I like the sound of that!

"Sorry Clay, I'm just frustrated... no one's telling me what's going on"

"No worries, I get it."

Understanding as usual Helmet, I smiled at him, holding his hand tightly.

"Jess, what happened last night? Can you remember anything...?"

Jess went quiet, she looked confused.

"Yeah, I can. I needed to talk,so did Alex. I remember he needed to tell me something."

Jessica's POV - Last night

I feel so much better that my parents know, it was the hardest thing I've done.

Who's this...?

1 new message - Alex

A - Hey Jess... what's up? You fancy some air? I need to talk!

You need to talk? You're not the only one Alex.

J - Hey... Yeah I could do with talking myself... What's up Alex...? Monet's?

A - No not in the mood, I just need to walk. Meet you by the Crestmont... 20 mins?

Something doesn't sound right, he never turns down a chance to scratch a drink off the never ending list.

J - Okay see you soon... xx

It was a warm night, the sun was coming down, the town looked gorgeous, like a movie setting.

Alex was there before me, which is so unusual...he's always late for everything.
