The frigid winds of Northrend sang a haunting song. A song of their sorrowful goodbyes, a song that reminded him of a beloved who left his side, intending to save the lives of many. Who would've known that her selfless and benevolent purpose would be the reason behind her disappearance? Or...even her death? Tirion furrowed his brows at the thought, no, she cannot leave him like this. She promised to return. She won't do this... she won't. Slowly he looked at the spinous pillars of the dark Citadel, the very Citadel which had lured so many brave warriors and heroes by the fires of their own vengeance. In return they were...lost. Raised to be the very being they strove to destroy.
Tirion has yet to see the great hero Bolvar return from his battle here, many say he had fallen. But had he truly?. The paladin's expressions twisted with disgust when it crossed his mind that (y/n) could be here too. It would be just if she had fallen here and was left alone, but few people were 'left alone' once they had fell to their deaths in Northrend. Could she be... raised?
"Stop thinking of this" Tirion berated himself, ever since his arrival in Northrend, he couldn't stop thinking of the worst fate that could've befell (y/n). The paladin reached for a broken piece of her warhammer that he had held on to ever since he had found it.
It was late past sunset, the sky was riddled with shades of red and azure. Tirion had summoned (y/n) for finally bring his feelings for her to light. They were entranced by an unknown force that bound them together at that moment. The beautiful blessing of light had showered upon their meeting that evening, as Tirion was about to loving hold the woman he held dear in his heart and seal their love, the Scourge's attack on Hearthglen had prevented them from doing so. The love was left unknown, and much to his fear, forever in the dark.
After bringing a temporary safety to Hearthglen, (y/n) had finally rested her hammer. The woman turned to Tirion and with urgency she said
"Tirion, my presence as a paladin would be needed beyond Hearthglen now" she sighed "I had never intended to leave your side and fight our same enemy alone... but I suggest that your presence is needed here, to these people, more than mine" she encouragingly smiled
"You intend to leave Hearthglen? And continue this fight alone? Are you alright?" Tirion was baffled by what he was hearing
"I'm never alone" she stated "the light is always with us... if I don't leave the safety of my home and chase down my enemies, they will chase us down and slaughter us in our homes" (y/n) suddenly dropped her warhammer, a piece from the metal scabbard had broken off.
"Keep this with you, after I return you can glue this back" she laughed innocently.
Tirion sighed and held her hand "promise that you will return soon, if don't... I won't—"
"No Tirion, you won't fall apart because the death of a comrade... you are the best example of our Silverhand and all the paladins" she sternly said before letting her sweet smile smooth her expressions
"But you are no mere comrade (y/n)" Tirion muttered, he couldn't return her smile as he was surrounded by his own grief.
At that statement, she was speechless. The woman took a moment before she could say anything "I wish you the best of luck in keeping Hearthglen safe...Tirion" she replied "stay strong if I don't ret—"
"No... don't, you will return" Tirion gently placed his fingers on her lips. The woman stared at him in confusion and grief, she knew not what she would face before her, but she wanted him to stay strong. Without lingering another moment, she smiled weakly and walked away, leaving Hearthglen.
Though it was a cold goodbye, she didn't want to make her departure a difficult one. Hoping that Tirion understood.

The doors were broken open, the paladins and heroes of Azeroth entered the icy halls of Icecrown Citadel. As they were all eager and vengeful against the king of this fortress, Tirion's eyes only looked for a lost loved one. Wandering alone here was more than just dangerous and yet the paladin did. The frost encrusted walls echoed the footsteps of his, and he felt like if he heard more carefully, he would even hear them echo his painful thoughts too.
Tirion exhaled a deep breath, stopping on his step. Feeling as if the burden in his heart wouldn't let him walk anymore. The paladin couldn't bring himself to go further with the heroes in the fear of finding a fate that he feared most.
"So, the impatient paladin walks off alone to find a more powerful opponent?" A hoarse voice sounded from behind him. Tirion frowned and looked to find a death knight standing. However as all death knights had defected from the Scourge, this one knight seemed to be loyal to them yet.
"I have no quarrel with you, I'm merely grieving a friend's loss... It'd be better if you don't provoke me" Tirion muttered
"We might not share any quarrel but the one I serve, do" the knight bitterly replied and charged at Tirion.
The paladin successfully defended himself, a strike from the Ashbringer had caused the knight to crash against the ground. The dark helmet rolled down on the floor from her head.
And here was everything that he had feared, it felt as if a blade of ice had pierced him right through his heart when he gazed in her lifeless eyes.
"(Y/n)?" Tirion mumbled in disbelief as she stood up, not letting her gaze meet with his.
"I thank you for not falling apart and leading these brave warriors at this tyrant's doorsteps" she muttered quietly "but I'm ashamed to greet you like this after years of absence... so I request of you Tirion, end this cursed existence of mine... it pains me deeply to live as the very being I sought to destroy" she sighed and shook her head in shame.
Tirion had only pity and grief for (y/n), he slowly walked closer to her and gently lifted her head, looking into her eyes
"All you ever did was to bring peace... in such a noble pursuit, you have fallen... you are still a hero and I still... love you" his heart grew heavy as he said those words. (Y/n) had assumed that all her emotions were lost when she was raised as an undead, but she realized that how wrong she was when tears of joy rolled down her gaunt cheeks. The woman held his hand that rested on her cheek, smiling at his words
"How I wish I could believe all of your beautiful words Tirion... but the reality is much more darker... it is better if you end me before I'm forced to end you" she sighed in grief and looked away.
Tirion was surprised but he expected something like this, she was too proud of her abilities in light for her own good. The paladin stepped back from (y/n) and turned away from her "no, you were a valiant hero as a living and still you are... it would be better if you understand this sooner" Tirion bluntly replied
"What are you going to tell everyone? That you spared the life of an enemy? An enemy of light of all people?!" she shouted
Tirion looked at her "you are no enemy of the light, you are still that honorable paladin and I will not kill a righteous hero... even if that costs me everything" the paladin lingered a moment before he walked away from her. The woman only watched him leave her behind, her eyes glistened with tears but she didn't call him back, she knew what she must do now...
