Connor
Dominique looked absolutely mortified as she trembled and cowered into my chest. I wrapped my arms around her shoulders whilst I turned my entire body so we were no longer facing the creature.
"Quick question." I said to Jason, who was looking for something on the ground beside us, yelling over the thunderous noise of the monster and the chaos of the dinning hall. "What the fuck is that?"
"Try asking someone who can actually see!" He snapped, patting around on the ground, probably meaning that he was looking for his glasses.
I shuddered, imagining the horrors of being half-blind.
I turned away from him in attempt to scan the room for Percy and Annabeth but as turned my head, all the over head fluorescent lights exploded, spraying shards of glass everywhere.
"Connor!" Dominique screamed from beneath me, as she wiggled out of my embrace and dragged me across the dinning hall, running as fast as she could. I allowed her to lead me away but I grabbed Jason before she lead us away. I didn't want Piper to bat her eyes and make me walk off a cliff, I kinda like, you know, living.
We were halfway across the hall, dodging the spraying glass pieces and masses of human beings running in every direction possible, when I felt a warm substance trickling down the left side of my forehead.
I choose to ignore it until we arrived at the latter end of the hall, where all the spare tables and chairs where stacked up, forming a makeshift fort. As we slid behind the stack of furniture I could no longer ignore the searing pain in my head, causing a shock wave of pain through my entire system.
I could barely keep my eyes open.
"Ah shit," I cursed, pressing my fingers against the fresh wound. I leaned against the face of an overturned table, with my back towards Jason and Dominique, who were discussing tactics.
I didn't want Dominique worrying anymore, than she already was. I mean ,she was absolutely terrified of whatever that creature was. I didn't want to add to her problems.
So, I made the wise decision of slipping between the small space between the table that I was underneath and the others, leaving Dominique and Jason to discuss without having to worry about me.
Every movement sent ripples of pain through my entire body. Black dots consumed my vision but I continued, moving as far away from the others as possible and towards something.
I wasn't even sure what I was moving towards, but I continued, despite to unbearable pain shifting from my head the entire left side of my body.
"Connor!" Someone yelled but I ignored them and continued to move forward, back towards the centre of the room, where the glass hit me.
"What are you doing?" Another female voice similar to the first one, yelled. They're voices seemed to be getting further away.
"Stop! Connor! The Chandelier is going to drop!"
Pausing mid step, I looked up and stared at the Chandelier, which looked more like a large swaying bedazzled spider corpse.
I watched as it swung; left, right, left, right. Until it finally fell and everything went downhill from there.
Everything that happened from that point on was blur. The Chandelier fell but somehow stopped mid-drop and literally disappeared.
The impact forced me to the ground, intensifying my pain massively. I could not longer keep my eyes open. I allowed the pain to consume me.
Two girls, who looked exactly the same appeared above me. They had snow white hair.
And with that I allowed my eyelids to fall.
× × ×
I could feel the heat from the Hawaiian sun beating down on my forehead as I opened my eyes. I was greeted by the worried tear stained face of Dominique, being comforted by two identical looking girls, which snow whit-
"What did you do?" I exclaimed, trying to get out of whatever awkward embrace Jason and Percy had me in. I evidently took them by surprise as they let go of me immediately allowing me to scramble to Dominique side.
She gave me one look and leapt into my arms. I hugged her back, savouring every moment of the embrace.
"Don't you ever do that again, Connor Stoll." Dominique commanded, eyes dark as she pulled away from the hug.
I nodded before looking past her at the Angel and Ezra. The two girls we'd met in the hotel. The two girls whose's father owned the resort. The two girls who saved me from being crushed by a poorly placed Chandelier.
"How the fuck did you do that?" I demanded, staring directly at the Angel and Ezra as I approached them.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Don't need to be such an asshole." Percy warned, shoving me lightly. "Don't forget that they were the ones that saved your life."
True. Remembering my injury, I looked down at my blood stained graphic Tee before running my finger across my forehead, where there was now a jaggeder scar.
"They healed you too," Annabeth stated, nonchalantly walking straight past us as she read something resembling a map. Percy followed her.
"But how?" I whined, looking between Angel and Ezra, who seemed to be stiffing laughter.
"Should I tell him or you gonna do it?" The taller girl in a black and pink cropped top, smiled leaning on her sister.
"I'll do it," the smaller girl in an orange crop top (Ezra?) laughed, turning to face me but I was no longer interested in what they had to say, cause they were taking too long to fucking explain.
So I turned my very patient self over to Jason and Dominique, who were deciphering something.
Why was everyone being so analytical and casually ignoring the fact that I was freaking out over here?
"Guys, I'm literally so confused. These two girls literally saved my life by poofing a chandelier away." I wiggled my fingers to emphasise the point "A fucking chandelier. Like, this isn't a fucking commercial. Do I look like Barry Scott? No Cillit BANG and the chandelier is gone! So can someone please explain HOW?!"
Jason threw his arms up in frustration, whilst Dominique rolled her eyes heavily. "Di immortales, idiot. Maybe they're... I don't know... demigods?"
I could feel the blood rushing to my cheeks. To be honest, that actually made a lot of sense.
Jason turned back to whatever he was doing, whilst Dominique smiled at my apparent embarrassment.
"If they're demigods and they healed me, why do I have a massive scar on my forehead?" I asked, shoving my hands in my pocket and sitting on the ground next to Dominique.
"Actually, that's my fault-"
"Because I think it's mysteriously sexy." Jason said as he leaned forward, changing his voice to poorly imitate Dominique's high pitched voice.
Dominique shot Jason a 'what the hell dude?' look before standing up and walking towards Percy and Annabeth, leaving me with a smug Jason.
I punched him on the shoulder, before flipping him off and laying unto my back, with one single thought lingering in my brain.
Dominique thinks I'm mysteriously sexy.
