Levi had been doing his best to sabotage your training but your mother always found a way to get you back to work. He hated the way she was treating you, whipping and insulting was something he saw all the time and of course the fact that you were almost left to starve, currently you were wondering a mountain since your mother left you there to survive with everything you could get. Of course he helped a bit but the more he watched the more he understood how you got your skills and the knowledge of survival.
- Perhaps I should kill her mother... she's standing in my way... in our way. He said as he watched you sleep in a cave. His eyes gleamed under the moonlight he stroke your hair gently and sighed, tomorrow was going to be the last day of your staying. You hadn't completely gone back but it was obvious that you weren't going to allow your feelings out any time soon. Levi went out and stayed guard the entire night, he had slept when you were washing yourself down the stream, you spent an hour there and so he had time to take a nap.
You were aware of Levi being there, all those "accidents" had his name on it and Mikasa had already informed you of his absence, you were suprised your mother hadn't noticed his presence, perhaps being away from the field had made her weak instead. As for yourself... you were already back to your old state, well kinda. Every night Levi would stroke your head and sometimes even sleep with you. Because of his illness he didn't sleep more than three hours so he always got up way earlier than you. His gentle side never vanished, not even when he spoke about killing your mother. The idea didn't really bother you though you needed her help when your emotions appeared. You slowly opened one eye and saw him sleep as the sun slowly began rising. You turned around so that your back was turned on him, you decided to leave a bit later than you originally planned. You were curious about what he was up to. You sent a letter to Mikasa one day when he had been sleeping behind a few bushes and explained everything. She wasn't happy about the reason you went to visit your mother and even less when you told her about you accepting Levi's affection during the time you spent asleep.
- It's probably proof that I haven't completely gone back to my old self. You murmured and slowly you went back to sleep.
When you woke up you found yourself in a dark, dump space, the bed underneath was comfortable but that was hardly of interest. You looked at your legs, they were chained on the bed with a robe. You examined the room around you... there was only a candle that set light around there, there was a desk, a closet and a chair... that was it, there was nothing else noteworthy in the room, suddenly you felt something touch your leg, you looked down and saw Levi looking at you with a smile.
- Hello, did you sleep well? He asked, your always calm expression remained the same but you could feel an emotion very deep inside you.
- Where am I and why are you here Corporal? You asked sternly and his smile fell.
- It's Levi to you (Name).
- Where am I and why are you here? You repeated unfazed, Levi sighed and looked at you calmly.
- This a house deep in the forest, away from villages and towns, I had this prepared for you while you were training. He said and you knew he was lying.
- Why?
- Because I need to make sure you don't get hurt while I get rid of some... pests.
- Who exactly? You asked even though you knew who that was.
- Your mother, that noble brat anda few others that haf the nerve to insult and hurt you.
- Leave them alone Levi, that's not your problem.
- They made your life a torture, your mother with her selfish nature and wild ambitions, that arrogant noble brat and all the people who had been making fun of your cold nature.... I can't allow them to live after that!!! He said angrily and you glared at him.
- True, they made my life hard but it is thanks to my mother's ambitions that I came to the army and because of those people who made fun of I was able to learn respect, self control and strategy. You said and Levi looked at you, eyes filled with rage.
- Why are you so determent to protect them?
- I am not protecting them, I don't want you to be a murderer, simple as that. You said and he growled.
- How can you expect me to be okay with them living their lives so carefree?
- Carefree? The constant threat of a Titan appearing isn't exactly "carefree", they hate me but they will not harm me, the rumours and title I hold is enough to understand that they need me. You replied and Levi looked in your eyes, he knew that you were right and that made him more angry.
- Fine... but I will spread terror all over town, they will NOT harm you again or I will kill them and I wont care about what you say (Name). He said and you sighed.
- Can you let me go now?
- No.
- Why? You asked and he looked at you coldly.
- Because I will bring back those emotions you burried deep inside you. Those feelings of affection and care... do you have any idea how long I had been waiting to see you react that way?
- That's a stupid reason Levi. Let me go. You said sternly and he stood up, with one last glance at you he left the room while ignoring your glares, you looked at the rope and decided to give him one last chance before leaving on your own, there was no way you'd let your freedom end up as your emotions... taken.
