To say things were going from worst to nightmarish level, was an understatement. Hell had broken loose. Levi wouldn't give up, he would come constantly, only to be kicked out by you. Your husband on the other hand, was given the chance to get closer with your daughters and he had began spoiling them quite a bit. Giving them dresses of the highest quality, new toys every day and made sure that they're favourite snacks were always ready in case they wanted something to eat before lunch or dinner.... but what really kept your attention, was the fact that he himself hadn't asked for any children of his own. He seemed more than happy with the twins and that... was weird for you, surely he wanted an heir or at least a child to continue the bloodline. However these thoughts were pushed back when you were called for a very important mission, you were asked to kill a large group of Titans that had appeared, they were twenty to twenty one in total and everyone was scared to death. Your squad and Levi's had been assigned to this mission and you hated it. You could see trouble from a mile away when it came to anything related to Levi... and you couldn't kill him and blame the Titans for it because no one would believe it.

- How long until the results that prove that he was killing cadets? You murmured and Mikasa frowned.

- I was told that by the time we return, they'd have enough proof. After this is done, he will be imprisoned for life. She said and you scoffed.

- Once he's in a cell, he will also be dead. I just need a good enough reason to enter his cell and that will be his end. You hissed and Eren looked at you uncertain.

- What if he overpowers you and escapes?

- I have the power to break his spirit, to destroy his confidence and make him fall into despair. That will be enough to weaken him, he's bound to show weakness and when he does, it will be all over. You replied coldly, everyone gulped, it had been a long time since they had heard that tone. It was the same emotioneless, lifeless tone from when you first became a cadet.

- Are you sure, you want him dead? Armin asked and you nodded.

- As long as he's alive he will try to force his little delusion of an ideal life on me. And no one will ever again force me into anything that I do not wish. You said with determination.

- If that's how you feel, then we'll help as much as we can. Eren said and you nodded.

- Thank you.

- By the way, we've been waiting here for an hour and no one has arrived yet. Armin said and you looked around. You were at the area where you were supposed to meet with Levi's squad but no one was here yet.

- Do you think he'll try to attack your husband? Mikasa asked and you laughed mockingly.

- The twins have grown attached to their stepfather and Adam never leaves them out of his sight. I don't think Levi will be foolish enough to try and kill someone his own daughters like in front of them. They are young but they can understand what's bad and what's good... and Levi is also aware of that.

- You are right, I am not. A voice said and you all turned to see Levi and his squad approach. A cold glare on his face, perhaps he believed that you'd feel strange if he'd act like his usual attitude towards others. Which, quite literally, made him look ridiculous and pathetic.

- You're late, captain Levi. You replied in an icy cold tone, a stern, emotioneless look on your face. Your scolding and the way you were acting had an impact on him instantly. His eyes flared with anger and his team seemed uncertain of what was to follow.

- Unlike you brats, I tend to have strategies. Scanning the area is the smart move. He said and you laughed at him.

- It's a smart move but it's smarter to do it a day before your actual mission. Wasting time can also leading to people dying... we wouldn't want humanities strongest soldier to be called an "arrogant, snobby jerk", now would we? You asked and that was enough for his facade to drop as he looked at you with amusement.

- Your tongue is sharper than your blades, it seems. He said and you  rolled your eyes and you all got on your horses. You didn't bother to talk any more and instead led your squad to the area where the Titans had been seen. Moving quickly you kept your senses sharp for any unexpected surprises.

Surely enough, you saw the Titans approaching, they weren't running... in fact they seemed quite relaxed. Which was the perfect chance for an ambush. You turned towards Eren and he transformed into his Titan form... the sight of him made the other Titans look at your direction and upon seeing you all... well, it was like someone rang the dinner bell.

- Armin! Go with Eren, he'll need your help. You said and he nodded as Eren placed him behind his neck.

- (Name) we need to attack now! Mikasa said and you nodded. You jumbed from your horse, flying into the air and as a Titan raised it's hand to grab you, you used it as a ladder to climb up and cut it's weak spot. At the same time Levi's squad also took action... it was only a matter of time before all Titans were killed, really.

Eren mostly worked as a restrain to the Titans but he would kill one or two occasionally. Armin guided Eren as to which Titan he should keep his focus on while you, Levi and Mikasa cut pretty much any Titan that came close, the rest made sure to keep any Titan's that tried to leave in one place. It was a tactic you and your squad used constantly, as for Levi's squad... they were good but their speed needed more work, according to you.

When night fell, you had managed to kill all of the Titans that had been reported in the area and had found at least ten more, after moving further. You rested in a small fort, nearby.... or rather, your friends slept while you kept an eye on Levi. He slept for three hours and those were also the only hours that you slept as well... trusting him was a mistake you were never, ever going to repeat.

The next day wasn't much different than the last... but what you did notice was Levi's attention shifting from you, to your friends. He seemed curious as to how you managed to keep everyone calm and make them work in perfect harmony... but what really got him, was the fact that you made sure to never outshine your friends. To you, this was a team mission and so a team would work in union to achieve victory.

- No wonder she's become arrogant. He murmured to himself as he watched you cut Titans. He had to admit, your cocky and arrogant side was sexy and he wanted to see more of it... he decided that just because you were married, didn't mean that he couldn't prove his claim on you. Besides, it was only a matter of time before you got bored of your husband who was by all means a boring man, in his eyes. Levi was unaware that your arrogance also came from the knowledge that his freedom, would soon be taken and his title as "humanity's strongest soldier" was ruined forever.
