The smell of mouthwatering, pancakes wakes me from a sound sleep. My stomach rumbles as I get ready to start the day, wondering if Chris finally learned how to cook after all these years of living together. Tapped to my bedroom door, is a note from Christina, reading:

Trissy Poo,

You looked peaceful sleeping, and I didn't want to wake you up. I went to go meet up with Will for breakfast then we are going to study some for our exam next week together. Will and I already decided that for a study break, we are going to go out to eat and maybe go catch the new movie that I have been dying to see called Safe Haven. Anyways, Four is still asleep on the couch. I will be gone all day. Don't wait up for me, and don't do anything that I would do. Call me if you need anything. :)

-Chris

Chris's note reminds me that Tobias is still here. I had forgotten for a moment, I thought maybe that I was dreaming about him again. It feels weird to be saying the name Tobias instead of Four, in my mind. The crisp air sending me looking for my comfortable, black, I Heart SF hoodie written in red. As my fingertips touch the hoodie, I think about San Francisco. I always loved that city, something about that city made me fall in love with it from the moment that I first laid eyes on it, kind of like Tobias. It could be the weather, or it could be that it is by the ocean, the culture of the city, or that there just seemed to be so much to do.

When I was younger, my father got stationed out in California and my mom, my brother, Caleb, and I would go to visit him as often as we could as we stayed in Pennsylvania with my mom. My dad, throughout my whole life, has moved around the US, and the rest of the world, traveling for his job in the military. Both, him and my mom, decided it would be better for me and Caleb to live in a stable home environment, and not have to move every three years. They wanted us to have a normal childhood.

When I look out the door, I am scared to see Four again. I don't know if things are going to awkward after last night. I hope not. I'm not sure how to handle awkward with Four. I have no idea how much he will remember from last night or if he realizes that I heard his confusion to me before he closed my bedroom door. I feel like Four and I made progress last night in our friendship, that we have a small understanding of each other.

I walk into the kitchen, not sure what to expect. Tobias is cooking pancakes, the batter is everywhere, including him. I look at him, fighting a smile, "Good morning, Tobias. How are you?"

A smile is on his lips, as he answers, "Good morning, Tris! I am doing very well, thank you. Chris told me that your favorite breakfast is chocolate chip pancakes. I decided to make some of those from scratch for you. I needed a way to make up for what I did to you last night, to thank you for being such a good friend to me, and for everything that you did for me last night.

He answered with a smile "Good morning Tris! I am doing very well. Christina said that your favorite breakfast was pancakes so I decided to make chocolate chip ones from scratch for you to make up for what I did last night and for you being such a good friend to me."

I smile back at him as I am pouring tea from the kettle as I say, "It really was no big problem, Tobias. Plus, I love chocolate chip pancakes, they are my absolute favorite. Not to mention you were great company last night." I grin at him as his eyes catch mine. I feel my cheeks heat as he smiles at me. He looks adorable covered in batter.

When I bite into Tobias's pancakes, the chocolate melts in my mouth, I moan in delight, as I say while chewing, "These are wonderful. Would you like to make me breakfast every day? You certainly cook much better than Christina can. Where did you learn to cook so well?"

Tobias's cheeks turn red as he says, "That you for the compliment, Tris. I would love to make you breakfast for the rest of your life, that is if you let me."
