The majority of the day, Tobias and I spend on the couch, cuddling, and sleeping on and off, attempting to catch up on the sleep that was lost the night before. When I awake from my nap, my head is in Tobias's lap, his medical textbook beside him, his hand on my stomach, while he concentrates, studying for his boards. Every once in a while, his lips wander to my forehead, placing a brief kiss while he brushes my hair away from my forehead. Glancing at the clock, I groan, stretching, wanting to stay in my comfortable position forever with him, but knowing I can't.
Swinging my legs, I stand, and walk into my room, to ready myself for the club. Pulling the dress and heels from the closet, I place them onto the bed and begin to attempt my makeup. Standing in front of the full-length mirror, I eye myself from head to toe, checking out my flawless smoky eye Christina taught me to do. I look hot in this outfit. Stepping out of my bedroom with an air of confidence, I wait to hear Tobias's expression, but I don't hear anything. My eyes glance around the living room, Tobias isn't there. The bedroom door swings open, Tobias walks out wearing dark jeans and a black, tight, button-down shirt, not paying attention, buttoning his sleeve. I stand in a daze, staring at him. How did I get so lucky to find this man who loves me so much? My eyes catch on the few unbuttoned top buttons revealing a bit of his tantalizes, sculpted chest. I lick my lips imagining, watching his muscles move when his shirt is off. Enjoying the view of the man walking towards me, I bite my lip. Tobias catches my staring eyes with his, giving me a flirty smile, he asks, his voice husky, "See something you like, Miss Prior?" My cheeks heat, playfully, I respond, "Maybe," while his eyes rake up and down my body quickly, admiring my dress, the way it hugs my body. He gulps, his voice hoarse, "Nice dress, but there is no way, I am letting you out of the house like that. I will have to beat the guys off of you with a stick, and as much as I would love to defend your honor, I don't feel like getting arrested tonight."
Crossing his arms, a smile tugs at his beautiful lips while I answer, "I told Chris you would not be happy with this dress, but she forced me to buy it." Pretending to be angry, he smirks, "Don't get me wrong, I love the dress, but it isn't appropriate for going to the club in." Panicking, I reply, looking at the floor unable to meet his eyes, not wanting to see the disappointment, I'm sure is going to be in them, I continue, "I know you aren't happy, I'm not totally in love with this dress either, but I like the way I look. Please don't cause an argument over something as stupid as a dress. I only want to have a good time with you tonight." He steps closer to me, guiding my chin, forcing me to look into his eyes. Instead of anger in them, I find love in his sparkling eyes. Gently, he smiles, "I'm not mad about the dress, I love it. In my opinion, it isn't for the public's view. Can you do me a favor, when we get to the club, can you stay close to me, please? I don't want any other man trying anything with you." I let out a breath, I didn't realize I was holding while his words hit my ears, he continues, "Let's go," he tugs me out the door, to the car, to drive to the club.
Inside the club, it is busy, it takes a while to find Chris, Will, Uriah, Marlene, Lynn, Zeke, Shauna, and Lauren, but Tobias and I finally do after a little bit of searching at the bar. Standing at the bar, my eyes land on Peter, Molly, Drew, and Eric. I groan and move to stand closer to Tobias, away from Peter and Eric's roaming eyes. Peter's eyes spot me immediately from across the bar, a wide smile spreads across his lips, he elbows Eric, pointing at me, a look of hunger takes over Eric's features as his eyes meet mine. Tobias is oblivious to the looks I'm getting from both Peter and Eric, he is too busy messing around with Zeke, having a good time. I attempt to keep my eyes locked on Tobias and Zeke, who are smacking each other in the arms for some reason. Rolling my eyes, I sidestep over to Chris to give her a hug, she sings happily, "You look hot in that dress! The guys in this club won't be able to keep their eyes away from you!" I giggle, rolling my eyes, "Okay, Four, loves the dress like you said he would, he didn't want me to wear it tonight, saying that he would end up arrested if someone looked at me the wrong way. You look beautiful tonight, by the way," I motion to her light blue dress with nude pumps. The dress has silver sequins and is even shorter than mine, and her pumps are sky-high. Shaking my head, I attempt to imagine myself walking in that tall of a shoe. I would die. She smirks, "Thanks." I can feel Eric's eyes on the back of my head, making my skin crawl uncomfortably. I walk back to Tobias, he is talking about work and his upcoming boards with Will. Tobias absent-mindedly wraps his arm around me while standing in a circle, speaking to Will. Uriah and Marlene stand in a circle with Zeke, who smirks, placing Uriah into a headlock. Rolling my eyes at the two grown men acting like two-year-olds, Marlene giggles, "Can you two grow up for once, you are embarrassing to be seen with." I laugh, "Maybe that is how brothers are supposed to act when they are together. I wouldn't know, my brother annoys me the majority of the time." Uriah saunters over to us, smirking, "Oh Mar, please, you know you love me and my good looks. If people are staring, they are staring because they can't believe how good looking I am, and they are jealous." Zeke rolls his eyes, jokingly laughs, "Sure they are, you jackass!" Uriah lunges at Zeke, he catches Uriah, pinning his arms behind his back. Uriah cries with sarcasm, "Hey, that hurts!" Zeke asks, "Are you going to play nice? Marlene, are you going to control him, or do I need to beat him to death with his own arm?" Marlene giggles, shrugging her shoulders. Shauna creeps over to Zeke, whispers something into his ear. Zeke utters, "Damn right woman, you better," his eyes follow her, he taps her lightly on the bottom, letting go of Uriah, following her into the middle of the club. Tobias spots a table in the corner, we grab our drinks from the bar, heading to the table. I slide my strawberry daiquiri next to Tobias's beer on the table. Will waves a waiter over to order a round of appetizers. Chris quickly drags Will to the dance floor after she finishes her bite of pretzel, leaving me alone with Uriah and Marlene, making out in the corner, and Lynn, who has a look of disgust on her face every time she glances at them. An unknown man in the club approaches Lynn asking her to dance, she happily agrees, disappearing into the crowd. Peter and Eric sit at the table next to us, they silently stare at me, giving me the creeps. I'm surprised Tobias hasn't called either of them out on it yet, but then again, Tobias is on his second or third beer, and he is staring at his phone muttering to Zeke who has reappeared back at the table about summer plans for up at the cabin.
Suddenly, Tobias grabs my hand, pulling me toward the dance floor, his arms wrap protectively around me, while we move through the crowd of people. When we reach the dance floor, he twirls me, I giggle as he turns me, leaving space between his front to my back while we dance to the beat of the music. My eyes stop on Eric dancing with a scantily clad girl, his eyes are locked on Tobias, the way Tobias is dancing and holding me against him. Tobias must sense Eric's scrutinizing stares. Suddenly, he twirls me, and we effortlessly begin to dance face to face in one fluid motion. My hips move to their own accord to the music, and I run my fingers through his sweaty hair. He presses me closer, his lips brushing against my skin, sending electric waves everywhere his lips touch. The urge to use the restroom can no longer be ignored after a few more dance songs, reluctantly, I leave Tobias alone on the dance floor.
Returning to the dance floor to find Tobias, I feel someone follow me. Turning around, my eyes land on Eric, "Can I help you?" I snap, crossing my arms over my chest. An evil smirk tugs at his face, he answers, "You look amazing tonight, I would love to take you home, show you a good time, and show you just how amazing I believe you look. The women often say once you go, Eric, there is no going back." A shiver runs up my spine at his words. I want to get away from him. I wish I could find Tobias in this crowd of people. Lowering my voice, I reply, "Get over yourself! What women? I don't see any. I guess they are all invisible. Leave me alone. I'm happy with Four, stop, hitting on me, and making advances, you are making me uncomfortable." He smirks, "No as uncomfortable as you make me," the double entendre isn't lost to me. I dry heave staring at him and turn to walk away, running into people in search of Tobias. Tobias is standing in the corner with another beer in his hand, his piercing eyes scanning the crowd, searching for me as I run over to his open, safe, protective arms. Looking behind me in search of Eric, my mind spinning over Eric's unwanted advanced towards me. My train of thought is broken by Tobias's drunken lips on my neck, he mutters against my skin, "Want to dance some more?"
Before I can answer him, Tobias is pulling me back into the middle of the dance floor. Compared to how Tobias and I were dancing before I left to use the restroom, to how we are dancing now, let's say the dancing before was like tame. Tobias runs his fingers and hands rapidly up and down my arms, his hands come to rest on my stomach, pulling me closer to his front, leaving no space between us this time. Our hips bump to the beat of the music, I have never danced like this with anyone before. Reaching my fingers behind my head up into his messy hair, tugging at it, Tobias moans softly in my ear, his lips brush against my neck. Tobias whisper shouts, "Hey, you wanna get out of here?" Motioning to the exit of the club. I grin, shaking my head, and motion to the bathroom once again. He yells, "Meet me at the bar. I have to pay the tab."
Returning from the bathroom, Tobias is sitting at the bar, a girl who is dressed like a harlot, smiles at him, batting her eyelashes, "I could show you a good time." Tobias attempts to politely turn her down, his eyes moving back to a game on his phone. The breaking point is when she runs her hands down his back laughing something about how strong he is, and how she would love to see his muscles in action without a shirt on. Jealously surges through me while I stomp over to them, I yell, "Get your grubby hands off my man!" Confidently, she says, "Your man, why would he ever want you, look at you, when he could have someone like me." Her eyes bore holes into me. Anger laces my voice, "Yeah, I'm sure he wants you and all your STDs, right?" Tobias finally lifts his eyes from his phone to realizes I'm standing behind them, he smiles, "Tris, she isn't worth your breath," grabbing my hand, walking out to his car.
Stopping when we reach the car, looking at him near the driver's side, I ask, "Tobias, where do you think you are going? You aren't driving! You have had too much to drink." Tobias tosses me the keys, nodding his head, and I drive us home. On the way home, Tobias speaks a million miles a minute about something which happened at the club with Zeke, then the next minute, he is snoring next to me in the seat. When we arrive home, I attempt to wake him with the slamming of my car door, he abruptly wakes up enough for me drag up him the front steps into the living room, to sit on the couch. I turn to begin to speak to him, but he is already asleep. I tug his shoes off, his belt off, grab a blanket from the closet to cover him in, and leave two Tylenol on the table with a glass of water. I scoop a sleeping Patches from a chair in the living room, deposit him on the bed, and curl myself up beside him to sleep once I have changed out of my heels and dressed for the night.
