The phone is ringing off the hook as Tobias and I are unlocking the door. No one ever calls the house phone. Who is it? I run up the house stairs to retrieve the phone. Tobias grabs the rest of our bags and the kitten. "Hello," I answer out of breath. Why am I out of breath from running? A musical voice sounds through the speaker of the phone, laughing, "Tris? Is that you? Why are you out of breath? Am I interrupting something?" Instantly I recognize the female voice, Christina. My cheeks heat at her assumption. Groaning my mind going to the reason of Christina's call, replying, "No, Four and I were. . ." Chris doesn't let me finish my sentence, she laughs, "Don't tell me, I don't want to know what you both do in your spare time together."

"Defensively, I say, "Chris are you crazy? I was trying to tell you, Four and I are just getting home from the cabin, we have been there since Christmas Eve." Chris laughs again like she doesn't believe me, continuing, "Anyways, Tris as much as I would love to hear all about Four's and your adventures, I am calling to inform you I will be there in ten minutes to pick you up, be ready!" Confusion laces my voice, I ask, "I thought we were going shopping tomorrow?" Chris giggles, "We were supposed to, but then I realized something, what if we aren't able to find the perfect dress? I mean that would be horrible! We need to use tomorrow as a backup day if I can't find you the perfect dress!" Trying to put a stop to the madness, I ask, "Are you serious? Why are you even calling the house phone, and not calling my cellphone like a normal person! I thought something happened to Caleb or my parents!" Chris replies quickly, "Your cell is off, I tried it five times before I resorted to this, and you didn't it pick up. I was worried about Four and you. I heard from Uriah, who heard from Zeke, you were at the cabin, I figured you should be home by now." Pulling my cellphone from my pocket, I notice it is off. I turn it on, multiple notifications light up the screen from Christina, I sigh, "Fine, I will be ready in ten minutes, but I'm not happy about shopping tonight!"

She laughs, "Why Tris? It is only shopping! What is more fun than shopping with me, your best friend?" I say, "Some of us like to stay home, not every girl loves to shop like you. Some of us love to do other things like read a good book or go to bed early." Chris quips, "I would go to bed early if I had Four in my bed too." Rolling my eyes, I groan, "Christina!" She laughs, "What! It's the truth! You have seen the man, he is your man! Not to mention, reading a book doesn't sound like very much fun! You need to live a little!" Laughing, I reply, "I'm good, I will see you soon."

Hanging up the phone, I attempt to find Tobias in the house. I find him sitting on the couch, a medical book about the advances in surgical techniques in his lap, his hand on Patches, who is curled up next to him. Leaning against the doorway, I stare at him briefly, he is completely absorbed in the reading material. Walking over to him, I sit next to him, lean over, and kiss him on the cheek, whispering, "Chris is dragging me shopping. I don't want to go! Can you make up an excuse for me? Can you tell her I'm not feeling well, that I need to stay home? Tobias laughs, eyeing me, "Oh, it won't be bad, I'm sure you can find a dress quickly to wear, then she will let you come home." Raising an eyebrow, I quip, "Yeah right! Have you met Christina?" He smirks, "Yes, I have. I see her almost every day when I perform surgery." A groan escapes my throat at the idea of spending hours with Christina, dress shopping. Tobias smirks at me, leaning closer to me, his lips press to mine while his hands cup my face. I pull away to say something, but he follows me, and I forget what I was going to say. Sliding my tongue along his bottom lip, he opens his mouth, and our tongues fight for dominance. Hearing a car horn, I groan, not wanting the kiss to end. Tobias pulls away with a smirk tugging at his lip, he whispers against my lips, "When Christina is annoying you, you can think about that kiss and the fact I will be waiting for you at home." Another honk sounds at the front door, he laughs, "You better get going before she comes in here to pull you out by your hair." I press my lips to his one more time, then walk out the door. My eyes fall on Christina dancing in her seat in the driveway, she screams, "Trissy Poo! Where have you been all my life? I have missed you!" Slightly annoyed, I say, glancing at my shoes, "Chris, you got off the phone with me ten minutes ago." I thought I was getting one more day of peace and quiet with Tobias. Over-joyed she sings, "I know, I can't miss my best friend! Are you ready to go shopping? I can't wait! We are going to find you the perfect dress! One that will drive Four absolutely crazy!" Laughing, I eye her, "If you find anything too crazy, Four might string you up by your toes." She smiles, "Fine, we won't go too crazy since Four can be quiet the scary boyfriend when he doesn't get his way. He is very protective of you." I smile a memory fills my mind of how right she is about Tobias being protective of me especially when it comes to other people.
