Waking earlier than normal, I dress quickly, eat breakfast, eager to see Tobias, and pack him a bag. My foot taps nervously, waiting at the stoplight on the street to turn into the hospital, my eyes glance at the clock inside the car, I'm almost two hours early for my shift. I feel like I haven't seen Tobias in weeks, even though I saw him yesterday afternoon. Walking into the lobby, my eyes search everywhere for Tobias, he told me he would meet me here this morning. My feet carry me to the on-call room, the one Tobias once brought me to, when we had a run-in with Eric and Peter at the roller skating rink, the one no one uses.

Opening the door quietly, the lights are dimmed, my eyes fall onto a man sleeping on his stomach, his stethoscope fallen to the floor. Walking closer, my eyes take in his appearance, hair going in every direction, I could stand here and stare at him all day. Tobias looks stressed even in his sleep, he looks like he hasn't gotten much of it. Sighing, I walk slowly from the room, determined to find him some breakfast, to let him sleep for as long as I can.

My fingers reach out to touch him, having found a chocolate banana muffin for him. I feel awful having to wake him, but it is getting late. Gently, I poke him in the side, whispering, "Tobias, you need to get up, you have rounds to do, you have lives to save." He groans, opening his eyes, rubbing the sleep from them, and slowly a smile spreads across his lips. He croaks, "Good morning beautiful, how did your night go? How did you sleep?"

"I slept okay last night, I would have slept better if you were with me. I got some studying done last night while you were here. I brought you breakfast." I reply, holding up a bag with the muffin inside. Tobias sits up, replying, "Thanks baby, I had a busy night. A trauma came in, and I had to perform surgery on two different people. Each surgery was four hours long. I went to sleep about two hours ago. I still have to go to check on each of them, to make sure they are still stable. Although I told the nurses to page me if something happened, and my pager has remained silent, that must mean they are still alive and well." He stretches, his scrub top rides up, revealing a hint of his toned stomach, I smirk, "Aww, I'm sorry you had a tough night. I'll see you later, I have to get going. I have to meet Tori in a few minutes." I whisper, leaning to give him a kiss, then walk out of the room.

My day passes by quickly. Sadly, I don't see Tobias again for the rest of the day. However, towards the ends of my shift, I leave the unit, and waiting for me, at the end of the hallway is a tired-looking Tobias. A smile tugs at my lips as I grab ahold of his hand, interlocking his fingers with mine. Together we walk out of the hospital to the car. At the car, Tobias mutters sleepily, "I have one more day of being on call. I should really stay here, that way if I am needed, I won't have to disturb you." Crossing my arms over my chest, I respond, "No, come home with me. You look exhausted, at least you will be able to get some sleep in a comfortable bed for a few hours." Tobias reaches for the keys, I dangle them away from him, jumping into the driver's seat. Tobias falls asleep in the car, even though the drive is only ten minutes. Running my fingers through Tobias's hair to wake him, his eyes snap open immediately, looking around the car. He walks into the house, then groggily makes his way up the stairs, moments later, the shower is going. I settle for a simple dinner of chicken and salad. After dinner, we snuggle on the couch and end up falling asleep intertwined together with the tv on.

An annoying buzzing alarm wakes me. It doesn't sound like a regular alarm. Groggily, my eyes search my surroundings, unaware of where I am. I'm on top of something hard, looking down, I try to figure out what I'm laying on top of. Suddenly, I realize I'm on top of Tobias, his arms wrap around me tightly. My eyes find his pager on the coffee table, it buzzes lighting up again, and again. "Tobias," I mumble, "Wake up, your pager is going off," Tobias grumbles something, pulling me tighter to his chest. His pager buzzes again, "Tobias, wake up!" I say, getting annoyed with his pager. Tobias stirs underneath me. My eyes find the clock, it is only two in the morning. Tobias's eyes snap open, he grabs his pager from the coffee table, looking at it, he says urgency in his voice, "Crap, I need to leave. Can you throw me a bag together? I have to go. I have emergency surgery." Sighing, I reply, "I will pack a bag, and I will go with you since I won't have a ride to clinical. I'll sleep in the on-call room, and get ready to go to the unit from there."

Hurrying, I pack both of us bags, then we drive to the hospital. I stay in my PJs, not wanting my scrubs to get wrinkled, to give Marcus an excuse to yell at me. Slowly, I walk to the on-call room and drop onto the bed, passing out cold. Tobias quickly runs towards the OR. At some point, Tobias noisily comes in, and the weight of the bed shifts, he pulls me close. I drift off the sleep. My alarm from my cellphone sounds, I bolt upright to get ready for the day. Making my way to the cafeteria, to find breakfast for us, I settle on bowls of cereal with fruit. Together, we eat in the room in silence, both exhausted from the night. Kissing Tobias goodbye before leaving to find Tori to begin our day, I whisper against his lips, "I'll see you later after I am done." He murmurs, "Okay, have a good day. I love you." I smirk, "I love you too." Leaving the room, I head to the unit and find Tori already busy on a computer.

The unit is more busy than normal, I see Tobias, but I don't have time to talk to him. I give him a smile with a wave, then move into another patient's room, following after Tori quickly as we continue to round on patient after patient.

Time Skip

When the day has finally ended, I am dead tired. Tobias meets me at the elevators, and we go home. On the way home, we end up talking about our crazy days, and the different things that happened. Tobias orders take out, too tired to cook as I change into my PJs, and we eat our food on the couch in front of the tv, watching mindless television. Once again, we fall asleep on the couch, thankful tomorrow is the beginning of the weekend. I really need to sleep. I feel Tobias move beside me, my eyes flutter open, and I see him struggling to get up, "Where are you going?" I ask.

"Sorry I woke you, I didn't mean to. I was trying to get up to go for a run. Go back to sleep, it is still early, I will wake you when I return home, and I have showered for the day. I think a day of doing nothing is in store for the both of us, how does that sound?" I smirk, not answering him, he rubs my forehead, replying, "I will that as a yes." Turning over, I drift back to sleep as Tobias's lips press to my forehead.
