Chapter 30

MY tears are flooding down my face as I looked at the person wearing a red cloak. I still couldn't believe my eyes. Pakiramdam ko pinipilipit sa sakit ang puso ko. How could the person I cared the most and treated as my sister fooled me big time?

"No! You're not Pepper! You're not my best friend!" Paulit-ulit akong umiling at pilit na pinapakalma ang sarili ko.

She drew an intimidating and wicked smile. She looks like exactly my best friend but she feels like a different person.

"Aw ~ I'm so touched, best friend. I missed you a lot!" Pepper said sarcastically.

She's not Pepper now. She's Aliah. And it fucking hurts.

"Yeah yeah, you're right. I fooled you and made you believe that we can be best friends for life, dimwit. We can still, of course! Only if you would come with me and be a good girl as always. So, yeah. You ready?" She's talking like the Pepper I know.

"I'm not coming with you!" I exclaimed.

"Ouch! That hurts, my best friend!" She acted hurt and then smirked. "I'm not asking you though."

She suddenly shifted her face seriously wicked and chilling. Walang ibang emosyon sa mga mata niya kundi kasamaan. Her presence gave an instant shiver into my system.

"P-Pepper please ... please come back! T-Tigilan mo na 'to!" I begged and hoped that the Pepper I know is still there.

She just gave me a cold gaze and before I knew it ... everything went black.

When I woke up, I immediately look around. Base on the blue curtain hanging on both side of the bed, white walls and ceiling, and monitor beside me, alam ko na kung nasaan ako. I've been here before.

"Eri, you're awake. May masakit ba sayo?" Tanong ni Zey nang hawiin niya ang kurtina sa kaliwa ko.

Pinakiramdaman ko ang sarili ko at mukhang ayos naman ako. But my tears immediately fell down when I remember Pepper. My best friend is the black witch, Aliah. She was the most genuine person I knew and the person I trusted the most.

"M-May masakit ba sayo? Eri, answer me please. Why are you suddenly crying?" Nag-aalalang tanong ni Zey.

I didn't answer. I just kept on crying. Ang pag-iyak lang ngayon ang kaya kong gawin. Sobrang sakit. Biglang namatay ang isang mahalagang parte ng buhay ko. I don't know what to do.

"Why is she crying?"

It was Raven who asked Zey. Hindi ko namalayan ang pagdating niya.

"I don't know. Mukha namang walang kahit na ano'ng masakit sa katawan niya, so I really don't know what's the problem. Ano bang nangyari? I was in a medical mission nang sunduin ako ni Prey and told me about the emergency, but I never got the chance to ask him." Balik na tanong ni Zey kay Raven.

Hindi ko na narinig ang sagot ni Raven. I heard Zey bid good bye before he walked out of the infirmary.

Raven stood beside my bed. He slowly pat my back and trying to comfort me. He pulled me closer into his arms. He didn't say anything. Hinayaan niya lang akong umiyak sa bisig niya. Hanggang sa hindi ko namalayan na nakatulog pala ulit ako.

When I woke up the other day, I was already in my room. Sariwa pa sa akin ang nangyari nang nagdaang gabi. Aliah finally revealed herself to me. I hoped it was just another bad dream but it wasn't. It's painful but I have to move on. Blood moon is just four days from now kaya kumikilos na si Arc para makuha ako. Hindi ako puwedeng maging mahina sa ganitong panahon.

I took a shower and wore a black T-shirt, jeans and a pair of sneakers. Kailangan kong ayusin ngayon ang training. Dapat kong malagpasan ang mga ibibigay na hamon ni Dianna.
