Leah's Pov
Today was the day I had to go back to school, and I admit I was kind of excited. I loved having three days off but they did get boring at times.
The only reason I wanted to go to school was to see Natasha.
I got dressed into my normal outfits. I wasn't really that girly so I just put on a pair of jeans with a white shirt tucked in, a blue jacket and my black converse. I threw my bag over my shoulder and ran downstairs. I frowned when I saw Luke wasn't there.
I quickly ate my favourite cereal while I watched my favourite morning TV show.
I realised the time and quickly headed out the door.
On my way to school, I texted Luke, asking him where he was.
When I arrived at school, I suddenly got really nervous. Everyone basically knew about the fight and I was scared they would all be talking about me.
I walked to my locker to get the books I needed for my first two classes.
"Leah!" I heard someone call.
"Natasha!" I squealed and went up to hug her.
"I missed you," she laughed.
"Same. Did I miss out on anything important while I was gone?" I asked.
"Actually yeah, we got an English assignment," she said and I groaned.
"How has Luke been lately?" She asked out of nowhere.
"Annoying as usual. And really weird. Like he will just leave the house without even saying anything and expect me to be okay with it" I sighed.
"Ok that's weird" Natasha agreed.
"And the other day he said his phone died when it was like fully charged," I complained but before Natasha could say anything the home room bell went.
Natasha and I walked in together, talking about the latest gossip. Thank God Florence isn't in my homeroom.
After we had the normal boring homeroom that Natasha and I talked through most of, the bell went signalling for us to go to first period.
"Miss Adams could I speak to you for a moment?" My homeroom teacher, miss Maiden said as I was about to leave.
"Uh, sure," I said and walked to her after saying goodbye to Natasha. She waited until we were the only ones left in the room to speak up again.
"The principal would like to see you," she told me. I nodded politely to her face but as soon as she dismissed me I rolled my eyes.
I guessed she means now, so I walked to the principals office, taking a deep breath and knocked on it.
"Come in," I heard her say and did just that.
"Good morning," she smiled as I entered.
I awkwardly smiled at her and took the seat across from her.
"Welcome back miss Adams," she said and I just stared at the painting behind her.
"I am sure you are aware that there may be a few assignments and homework to catch up on," principal Erikson reminded me.
"I mainly called you in here because as you may know, Florence Miller is back in school as well and because you started the fight I will need you to apologise to her." As she said this I refrained from jumping out of my seat.
I didn't think she was serious when she said this the other day.
"But she started the rumour about me," I defended myself.
"I know it might seem a little unfair but because you started the fight you must be the one to apologise," she explained and I rolled my eyes. I didn't even want to see Florence let alone talk or apologise to her.
After she talked to me for a while longer, I walked out of her office and sighed in relief. I was only in her office for a few minutes, so people were still walking to first period. I decided I would talk to Florence now and get it over and done with.
I walked to where her locker was and was disappointed to see she was there. Just my luck.
I walked up to her with all the confidence I could muster. Almost every person walking to class had their eyes on us, except for Florence who hasn't noticed my presence.
I cleared my throat as I stood behind her and waited for her to turn around.
"What the hell do you want?" She rudely asked. Here we go.
"Um..." I looked around at everyone and my face went bright red.
"I'm not here because I want to be, I got told to come here and um...apologise," I trailed off again.
"So, um...sorry," I looked at my feet, waiting for a bitchy comment to leave her mouth.
"You better be" she said.
And there it is.
I know her to well.
I looked up at her, "What?"
"You got me suspended," she said, as if stating the obvious.
"Actually you got yourself suspended. You started the rumour for no reason," I said and tried to stay calm.
"Doesn't mean you had to start a fight with me," she said and glared at me.
"Oh my God," I laughed at her in disbelief. I turned my back on her and walked off, trying to prevent a fight from starting.
I stormed through the hallways, not even knowing where to go, on the verge of tears. She makes me insane.
"Leah!" I heard a familiar voice yell after me but didn't turn around.
"Leah," the person grabbed my arm and I turned around to see who it was. Aiden. Oh no. He was the last person I wanted to see me cry.
I couldn't ever escape from anyone. It took everything in me to walk away from Florence and someone else just had to pop up.
"What's wrong?" He asked, concern in his eyes.
"Nothing," I sniffled and tried to force a smile.
"It doesn't look like nothing," he said and pulled me into a now empty hallway.
"I'm going to be late for class," I sniffled and tried to walk away.
"Just talk to me," he said and my heart picked up speed. "What's happened?" He asked again.
"Just...all the stuff with Florence," I wiped away my few tears.
"Don't let her get to you, she's not worth it," he told me.
Aw, he's so cute.
"It's just, we used to be friends but I don't know what made her hate me so much," That was the worst part of all this, not knowing what made her hate me so much.
"She's crazy if she hates you," he said and I actually smiled.
"I'm so glad to have a friend like you," I assured him and his face fell.
I was about to say something else but the second bell went, indicating everyone was to be in class.
A/N:
So sorry that this chapter is pretty short but, I'm making up for it by updating tomorrow.
