It was Monday morning and I was getting ready for school. After I finished getting dressed I walked downstairs to eat breakfast.
"Morning Luke," I greeted him as I sat in the seat next to him.
"Morning," he mumbled in response.
"Why so serious?" I asked with a smile.
"I barely got any sleep last night," he groaned.
"Why?"
"I just had a lot on my mind," he said in a tone that meant he didn't want to talk any more.
After I finished eating I brushed my teeth and went back downstairs.
"Kay Luke I'm leaving," I shouted.
"Bye," he shouted back as I walked out of the house.
The walk to school was short and when I got there I went straight to my locker. I walked to Natasha's locker to see if she was here but she wasn't. I walked down the corridor to Aiden's locker to see him standing there laughing with his friends.
I needed to talk to Aiden but I didn't want to do it in front of his friends. I stood there on my phone waiting for his friends to leave. After five minutes they were still there. I sighed and walked up to him. It was now or never.
All of his friends went silent as I got there and stared at me.
"Hey um Aiden could I talk to you for a sec," I said nervously as all his friends were watching me.
As I said this his friends made "oooh" sounds. I glared at them.
"Uh yeah sure," Aiden replied and scratched the back of his neck.
We walked away from his friends and to an empty corridor.
We stared at each other not knowing what to say. I was the first to speak.
"So... What were you going to tell me the other day?"
"What?" He asked.
"The other day you were going to tell me something but we got interrupted by... Tyde," I paused before saying his name.
I saw anger flash in his eyes when I said his name.
"Why was Tyde at your house?" He asked, completely ignoring my previous question. "And why did he say he needed to talk to you and that he's been trying to call you?" He continued, looking angry.
"Um I uh..." I stuttered. I couldn't tell him what really happened between Tyde and I.
"Tyde is a bad person Leah. You shouldn't be around him," Aiden said, softly now. It's not the first time someone's told me that, I thought to myself.
"I know..." Was all I could say. "How do you know him anyway?" I asked, frowning.
"My sister used to go to his uni. She liked him a lot and well one day at a party he slept with her and never talked to her again. Of course my sister was heartbroken. He used her and she really liked him." My eyes widened in shock as I took in what Aiden said. Any respect I had for Tyde had disappeared.
"Oh my gosh."
"I hate his guts. I was so surprised to see him at your door and asking to talk to you."
"Don't worry I hate him too," I admitted and I was actually telling the truth. I hated Tyde.
"Anyways we should hang out soon yeah?" He suggested.
I grinned. "Definitely."
He said bye and walked back to his friends. I walked back to my locker to see Natasha leaning against it on her phone.
