Afraid

Chapter 13

"Leah, you are here because you started a fight with Florence Miller and physically hurt her. I will need a parent or guardian to come in and speak with me," Principle Erikson told me as I sat across from her.

"Actually my dad's on a business trip," I informed her.

"Well there has to be some guardian looking after you."

"Yeah. My older brother, Luke," I said.

She made me sit in silence and wait for Luke to arrive. I stared at the floor while she made a bunch of phone calls.

Oh my god, Luke is going to kill me.
I looked at the clock on the wall and read 4:00, so everyone would have been at home by now except me sitting in the principal's office because fricken Florence had to start that damn rumour.

About 15 minutes later I saw a presence coming into the office. It was Luke. Oh no.

"Mr Adams, take a seat," she told Luke.

"You okay?" He whispered so only I could hear, while he sat down.

I just nodded because I knew as soon as we were out of this office I was going to get a massive lecture.

"Mr Adams, your sister here has gotten into a fight and physically hurt someone on school grounds."

No you don't say.

"What?" Luke's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.

"I think the only suitable punishment for this would be suspension." She said and I sat up from my slouched position in my uncomfortable chair.

"What?!" Me and Luke both said in unison.

"I'm sorry but you did start a physical fight in front of other students on school grounds and if it weren't for other students, that fight could have been a lot worse," she told me and Luke.

For the next 20 minutes she just blabbed on about how she was so disappointed in my behaviour and how I owe Florence an apology and how my suspension is for three days.

As soon as we stepped out of Principal Erikson's office, I saw Florence and her mum siting on the waiting chairs. As soon as Florence saw me she gave me a massive death stare and I returned it. Her mum and her stood up to go into the office and I felt Luke tense up next to me. What?

We walked past each other and she purposely bumped her shoulder against mine. Bitch.

"What the hell were you thinking?" Luke yelled at me once they were inside.

"I'm sorry. She started a rumour about me, what did you expect me to do?"

"Not get into a fight," Luke said sarcastically.

"What was the rumour about?" He asked.

I rolled my eyes "She basically told the whole school that I slept with Aiden," I said and his eyes lock with mine.

"Did you?" He asked nervously.

"No Luke! It's a rumour," I said and walked past him and out of the school. I pushed open the school doors and walked into the car park where I spotted his car.

"Well congratulations you are suspended for three fucking days now. I hope you're happy," he said while getting out the car keys from his pocket.

"I am," I sarcastically said while getting into the car. What is wrong with me? Why have I been so naughty lately?

I had gotten into a fight and gotten suspended in one day. And now I was being rude to my brother. I was never usually like this but I couldn't help that Luke was so annoying and protective. I wasn't perfect.
