Afraid

Chapter 34

Natasha's Pov:

"Hey!" Ryder said as he pushed himself from his leaning position on his car.

"Hi," I smiled at him and he gave me a quick kiss on the lips before pulling me into a hug.

Ryder and I were going out for coffee at a new restaurant downtown that we thought we would try. And I couldn't be more excited. Although I also couldn't stop thinking about Leah and how that Alexa bitch stole her away from me.

"I missed you," he said into my hair. He towered over me, at least a head taller than me.

I giggled as I pulled back from the hug. We both got into his car and he started to drive.

I sat there in silence at first and thought about how I basically lost my best friend to a new girl and Florence hadn't been answering my calls lately so I didn't know if I had lost her as well...

"How have you been?" He asked.

"Hm good," I smiled at my handsome boyfriend.

It was silent until Ryder spoke up, noticing I wasn't myself. "

What's wrong babe?" He asked and quickly took his eyes off the road to take a glimpse at me.

Ryder had black raybans placed on his perfect face. I let out a squeal in my mind at how hot he was.

"Just everything with Leah," I mumbled.

"Well maybe you should talk to her," he said.

"I'm not talking to her, this is her fault," I exclaimed and rested my elbow on the door as my hand massaged my temples

"Well maybe you don't know what she's going through," he mumbled.

I looked at him in disbelief but his eyes were fixated on the road, never leaving it.

"Whose side are you on?" I asked more harshly than intended and I instantly felt guilty for snapping at him.

"No baby I'm just saying."

I sighed, "no I'm sorry. I didn't mean to snap at you but I'm just stressed out that's all," I mumbled the last few words.

A few moments later he said, "don't worry about it. We're here" and he opened his car door and got out.

Ugh I always have to ruin everything.

Ryder and I's date at the coffee shop wasn't as bad as it started off to be. We both got over what happened and laughed a lot, it was great.

He even payed for my coffee and the muffin we shared. But unfortunately I had to get Ryder to drive me back home earlier than I wanted to because I had to take my little sister Aubrey to the doctors. She had a cold and my mother had a meeting at work so I had to take her.

"Aubrey come on," I hurried my little sister along as we entered the doctors.
I went up to the front desk lady.

"um...Aubrey Stratford," I told her.

"Yes. Won't be long, please take a seat" she pointed to the chairs and Aubrey and I took a seat.

Aubrey started playing games on her iPod as we waited to keep her occupied.
"You missed that little person over there," I told her pointing to the left hand side of the screen.

"Shhh your distracting me," she told me as she continued to tap her fingers across the screen.

I laughed as I lifted my head up and unexpectedly saw a familiar face on the other side of the room.

Big dark circles were displayed under Florence's eyes. She looked like she hadn't slept in days.

She sat there with a girl beside her that I'd never seen before. Must be her friend.

So this is why she hasn't been returning my calls...

I quickly pulled my hoodie over my head so they wouldn't notice me.

It wasn't long before she broke down in tears while her friend comforted her.

One of Florence's hands cupped her face while the other one rubbed her belly.

No way.

Is that what I think it is?

Is Florence possibly...pregnant?
